Poker room idea: In-game ads to reduce rake.

I had an idea that surprisingly hasn’t been implicated yet in an online poker room to the best of my knowledge.

Why not offer players the option to turn on in-game ads while they’re playing in order to reduce rake? And it could totally be customizable to whatever degree the player wants. Seems like a win-win for the room and player.

Maybe give players a fixed-amount hourly rake-back for whatever ads they are watching or listening to while playing. This could be especially helpful on the mobile platform when players are only playing one table anyway, and mostly more casual microstakes players.

To attract brand new players you could even constantly do freeroll sit&go’s or tournaments that pay out the total ad revenue to players at no cost to the poker room.

And for higher staked players, their possible ad revenue probably couldn’t really be that significant... and they should have the option to turn it off. But if the casual masses were able to generate revenue to bring to microstakes, all that generated ad revenue is going to trickle up eventually. And when you make microstakes much easier to beat, it also obviously makes the game more popular to the masses as well.

Also, with the recent apple facial recognition software, it would seem much more feasible to detect if players were botting to grind a small win in the microstakes. Assuming the technology spreads in the upcoming years, it could be fairly simple to authenticate an actual person is watching the ads with the mobile device or perhaps a facial recognition computer attachment.

Just my two cents on some random ideas. Sorry that it’s not really structured... but what do you guys think?
