Sound improvment

I see quite few suggestions about technical improvements of videos latley so I would add one by myself if that would not be too pushy:)
I think sound quality is globaly underestimated and mostly very poor (sometimes even dangerous to the ears) on internet (aka YouTube) and so is in poker tutorial videos (not all, some are ok). Improvement in this field would make RIO even more professional and standing out. Majority of online users will probably not even be consciously aware of what is the main reason they dont feel good watching some of the videos, They will just stop watching them because this occures mostly subliminal. I am aware that sound editing, mixing and mastering of all the old videos would take too much time and effort and same time and work would be needed to constatly check sound of new videos if nothing would be changed at "input" (while recording them). Therefore I suggest you just make a, lets call it "standard sound minimum recording - production", which would only take a 5 minutes of preparation for coaches before recording their videos (sorry about my English, I hope I am understandable). Oh, yes, if coaches dont have at least decent sound card, microphone and headphones they should invest in that equipment, but that wouldnt cost them much (we are still talking about low end sound production, high end could for sure be very expencive, but no need for that in tutorial videos). On the end this is their (I assume) payed job so little investment shouldnt be such a problem, especially because that should help them (and RIO overall) gain more viewers and better ratings. And probably for many of coaches there none money invesment is needed, they might already have decent equipment but they just dont use it right.
So in general I kindly suggest to just put some more attention on sound while you making videos and if any coach needs a help I ll be glad to try to help.
General humble tips (no offence if you already are doing this):
- try to record at 48 kHz/16bit
- depends on the microphone u use, but probably you dont use high end condenser mics so stay quite close, but dont "eat" it, 7 to 15 cm directly from the mouth, maybe slightly (really slightly or forget it:)) above the mouth, just listen the sound of your voice while moving mic and when you hear yourself sounding the best thats the spot:)
- use pop up filters if you get a lot of plosive & ess sounds (you can make one from your girlfriend nylon sock) or buy it, 20 bucks
- use headphones and turn off volume of speakers while recording
- use a mic stand, dont hold it in a hand and dont move head too much around
- listen the enviroment before you start recording, be sure there is no background noices (close windows, tell the wife or husband to shut up, etc.)
- try to record in smallish room (it can be big if you are already too rich to find a small room, but in any case the room should not be empty, avoid empty space, it will help if room is fully furnitured with a lot of books, bed, curtains, etc without too many naked walls and windows), so room with almost no or very short reverbration time, dont sit in a corner or in the center of a room, just walk around and find a spot where you sound natural and dryish, not boomy or too thin...
- watch an input signal before you press record button, dont go "in red" at any point, gain setting is very important
- one very important thing is your interpretation and pronunciation of speech, make some effort and talk openly, address the audience...
- it would be nice if you could use some compression, EQ and limiting in postproduction, and if all videos would be mastered at same RMS level but ye, this is a bit too much to ask (if anyhow RIO finds this useful I might try to help on this one)

Thank you for "listening":P:)
