The road to

A previous life*
In the midst of the pokerboom i started playing my first hands. I just dropped out of high school at the age of seventeen and started working at a factory for a few months before i quit. I had some money saved up and decided to give poker a go. I really felt like this was a game that could change my life. Obviously this is not what happened. I 24 tabled the lowest micros because i was too scared to move up. The money was too important. I must have played 5 million hands during those years, earning just enough to do fun things (read: smoke weed). And since I lived with my parrents and most of my friend underachieved massively as well, i fellt no need to make any changes in my life.

Grinding school*
Then, a few years later I found myself lost, without a purpose and addicted to weed. I had zero selfconfidence and was scared to try to go back to school, but my options were running out. So, in the summer of 2013 I applied for teachers college. Five years later, I quit smoking all together, moved out of my parrents house and will be graduating soon. Till the summer i teach a class filled with refugee children as a second language teacher, which is something I love doing.

Comeback to the felt*
During those five years in school i didn't play at all. Now that i've found balance in my life i fellt like it was a good time to come back. I deposited $200 and started playing 4NL on iPoker. I won a bit, moved to Partypoker, where I started playing z5nl. Things didn't worked out as i hoped:

This went on for another 15k hands. After this I decided to take RIO essential, GTO+ and started playing on Unibet to grind my roll back up. In the meantime I realised my focus needed be on improving if i wanted to ever move up. I watched videos, read books, took control of my tilt issues and started grinding my roll back up. At the beginning of may I changed rooms back to Party and started grinding z10nl, with a fair bit of succes:

Now I want to keep track of my grind and I feel like this could be the way to do just that. The coming months, till the new schoolyear starts, I have quite a bit of time to grind. I don't have any real long time goals. I always thought it would be cool if I could play 5knl one day, even just for a single session. So maybe when i reach 10k that's just what i'll do.

Shortterm goals

  • Play 22.500 hands a week to reach 25% rb milestone
  • Study 10 hours a week

Bankroll $1041
