Facing large bet on high equity turn

Blinds: $0.05/$0.10 (6 Players) BB: $10.00
UTG: $10.00
MP: $21.54 (Hero)
CO: $7.31
BN: $10.00
SB: $13.02
Preflop ($0.15) Hero is MP with T 9
UTG folds, Hero raises to $0.30, 2 folds, SB raises to $1.10, BB folds, Hero calls $0.80
Flop ($2.30) T 2 6
SB bets $1.60, Hero calls $1.60
Turn ($5.50) T 2 6 8
SB bets $3.30, Hero calls $3.30
River ($12.10) T 2 6 8 3
SB bets $7.02 and is all in, Hero folds
Final Pot SB wins $11.56
Rake is $0.54

Whilst calling is better than folding, it feels gross to call such a huge bet the fold river - which we obviously can't call - which makes me wonder about a turn jam. Problem is, I think his turn bet is likely to be "too honest" ie, OP & not much else. So I guess it depends how much " i must win the pot" spaz I put in his range. That said, if he just went off reservation with AK, calling might see him sew the rest on any of the 17 rivers I'd happily call off on.
Jeez, I'm lost RIO
