'Playability' is a term that gets thrown a lot when talking about a how a pre-flop hand realizes its equity post-flop.

We know from sims that out of position we realize less equity than we do in position.

I also imagine some hands are picked not only because of their equity but, because of their role for board coverage (say 3betting a suited connector in NLHE).

Apart from the issue of positional advantages and board coverage are there examples of a GTO pre-flop range where you pick hands that have less pre-flop equity/fold out hands that have more pre-flop equity? Examples of hands that call when they don't have appropriate odds pre-flop or folds when they do (I believe hands like A2o are often folds in sims despite having appropriate equity.). And if so why?

I have a theory on this, but would love to hear your thoughts first.
