SB: $2.26
BB: $2.00
UTG: $2.16 (Hero)
MP: $4.53
CO: $2.15
Preflop ($0.03) Hero is UTG with 8 8
Hero raises to $0.07, MP raises to $0.18, 4 folds, Hero calls $0.11
Is this a good call ? His range is quite solid by 3-betting me, many over PP and AQs, KQs which has decent equity against my hand but the price he gave me made me call. I have to take advantage in the flop around 40% of the time
Flop ($0.39) T T J
Hero bets $0.19, MP calls $0.19
My range of semi-bluff here consisted of 88, 99, this combo can transform to set or draws easily. By betting as low I keep his defending range quite large and JJ is a combo I definitely could have in my defending pf range to make him fold his range
Turn ($0.77) T T J 9
Hero checks, MP bets $0.24, Hero calls $0.24
He leads with a 33% pot, his range consist of combos like QQ, KK, AA, also some KQs. With 10 outs to touch a set or a SD i called.
River ($1.25) T T J 9 Q
Hero checks, MP bets $1.79
His range is so polarised right now, He can have the SD nuts or still have AA, QQ combos but he should represent the nuts by overbetting like this. What would you do at this point ?

SB: $3.87
BB: $2.00
UTG: $3.74
MP: $1.89
CO: $2.08
Villain is 23/15 with 13 hands, assuming he has a deep stack i considered him as a regular nl2 player
Preflop ($0.03) Hero is BN with A 3
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.05, SB calls $0.04, BB folds
Ac3d is the bottom of my range on BTN, i usually bet 2.5 BB as i could face 3-Bet more often than in other position
Flop ($0.12) 3 3 A
SB checks, Hero bets $0.06, SB raises to $0.12, Hero raises to $0.48, SB raises to $1.36, Hero raises to $1.95 and is all in, SB calls $0.59
Flop is quite magnificient ! As the pot was small i wanted to get it bigger from the start. My thoughts was to 1/2 flop, and barrel with a size depending to the texture of the board at turn and river.
Is this a correct way to get a maximum of value assuming we have nuts 99 times over 100

SB raises 2x my CB, with this flop his raising range could consist of every PP from 77 to AA, every non gap combos such as 23ss until KQss
I should have just call instead of 3-Betting here to extract value from these weaker hands ?

you're alright but i mean a pair which has found a set on the flop would've aggresively raise because of the draws, i'm playing with the fact that the action is lowing because of the board texture

Flop ($0.75) 3 7 5

Here is the point i want to talk about, should i just call or raise is ok ? by raising this sizing we need to make him folds around 18% to get immediate profit, we hardely block top straight, he should throw some over pairs greater than us (which had not 3bet pf), he could maybe hold 66 or some db pairs but we have around 36% against 65s,76s

straighty board, but V can have a 98s type of hand, double pair he wants to defend against draws and some toad. He can also have a bunch of combos to defend like QQ
Turn ($1.24) 7 T J 8
SB checks, Hero checks
Here he's afraid of the straight, i dont want to bet because i don't want to fall in a trap he settled by having his straight
River ($1.24) 7 T J 8 T

The turn card favors him, he could trips with combos like ATs. As played i saw him on a JJ or 88 type of hand

Comment | Alban Farcy commented on 88 tricky river

i would open 3.5 bb pf
flop and turn is fine as you need protection against draw
river it's a call for me you only need to win 20% of the time as villain can hold a bunch of busted spade draws

Sept. 1, 2018 | 1:03 a.m.

When you c/r at flop with this board what do you rep ?
A strong draw or a set mainly
If you hit yr draw at turn you will'nt make so much money since your draw is totally in your range
I would play a passive line at flop/turn imo

July 10, 2018 | 12:59 p.m.

Why do u fold here ?
U still have 2 over cards and a fd
V could do that with some AX combos, some overpair and rare broadways u have some equity here imo

i would have check flop
turn is fine as played
river he might have some of Tx, Jx but also a lot of busted draws or over cards i would have bet a little less

June 18, 2018 | 9:53 p.m.

first of all, thx for your reply :)

The deeper the stacks, the more you can call big raises.

yeah but in this type of spot where there is a lot of draws our equity is quite done, i mean if vilain holds a range like {AsXs, KsXs, QT, AQ} we prefer to be as low stack as possible to deny implied odds for Villain.
In this case i agree with you, implied odds gives us oportunity to make call that would not be with 100BB effective stack

June 18, 2018 | 9:46 p.m.

More the stacks are low, more we should play the "done" strenght of our hand/range right ?
In a 100BB effective i would call but here with our depth i had fold

hi, thanks for your reply :)

When he call my first barell i bet lower than before to make his range as wider as possible
I mean if i barell each time to "value" as 75% pot river i'll face a really strong range composed by sets, or pair higher than me
here are just my assumptions :)
