Post | Francis posted in Chatter: SBvsBB play strategy on RIO?

Is there any video on how to play on SB vs BB on RIO (or mentioned in part of the video)? Also, any relatively new link or resources is very welcome. Personally, I've been struggling with cbetting recently. Thanks.

At 28:51, fold AJo DBvsCO 2.5x open? Thanks.

Post | Francis posted in Chatter: Pro names followed by russian flags

Does anyone know why the names of many pros are followed by a small russian flag? For example : Paul Atwal, Iain Salter, etc. They are clearly not russian.

This is some high quality analysis you're giving me. I totally understand and realise what would be the better play. I think it's better to start polarising our hand on the turn here. Do you what kind of senarios should one polarise one's hand starting from the flop?

I've been playing with some fun players, some are short stacks. So I had a hard time folding over pair/set on three-of-a-same-suit flops.

For instance(Sorry for not having converted the hand in text. Just bought a new pc) :
https://www.winamax.fr/replayer/replayer.html?2017-48de1df3fcffbdfcd5b82520579629f4620b15c06ecf2511ac2f8ca14a3071bc&lang=fr_FR

In general, the reason I don't fold is that fun players can have top pair, flush draw and pair plus flush draw more often than regs to be willing to move in. Sometimes they just x/c and x/call all in with short stack. But almost 5 losses like this make me wonder otherwise.

Any thought is appreciated.

Hey BubbleNedRum,

Thanks for your input. I'd rather hear frank opinions than fake compliments.
When I look back, I think I did missplyed the hand. I didn't notice if the villain is loose, but I was playing quite tight at the table. This was my first 3bet after around 30 hands. So I assumed vallain would put me on a topper range preflop. So I kind of decided to 3 barrel once I saw the flop. I thought vallain couldn't a big ace, even ace there. Should we ever 3 barrel here to keep balanced? Maybe with a better draw?

Incognito table so no stats. I used the same sizing as value hands like AQ+. I could give up on the river since I block straight draws, but I think fold equity is relatively good.

Any thought is appreciated.

Comment | Francis commented on NL5 63o in 4bet pot

I think in NL5, you have to be self-disciplined and avoid fancy lines. Sometimes it's better not to have a 4bet bluff range.

Good point. I think I should c-bet 1/3pot instead checking. By checking I kind of put my hand faced up, which can be exploited by good regs. There were also another factor, that was I've won several hands in a row against the vallain before the hand. So I kind of slowed down without thinking too much.
In gerenal, I think c-betting when there's no backdoor flush draw here and check when there is would be ok.

Sorry, I didn't find a hand converter that can do the job. Here's the hand :

https://www.winamax.fr/replayer/replayer.html?2017-1d95e7bf7ce1db05dc558a637a3de5f194ee74c4704a3943d23bdcd6a65176e9&lang=fr_FR

I took a passive line because I was vs UTG. On the turn I folded because I think I can't call the river if he bets, and it would be a shove too if he bet. I had no stats but he's a decent reg that doesn't go out of line very often. What would you do ?

March 21, 2017 | 11:15 p.m.

Hello everyone,

I've been playing NL50 incognito and zoom tables with no HUD. So I was wondering what's your guys general opening/defending and opening/4betting range vs random players assuming one opens 2x-2.5x and got 3bet 3.5-4x?

Thank you.

March 20, 2017 | 1:14 p.m.

The hand is here(zoom without stats) :
https://www.winamax.fr/replayer/replayer.html?2017-6a367b1c59d8088543c2fe5057cfe6bbad1146bee602f5b25020888af302acb5&lang=fr_FR

My thinking process :
preflop : standard open MP
flop : c/f since there's no equity to continue, so I put it in my giving-up range.
turn : c/r got two way straight draw, I could bet to represent TT,99, but it wouldn't be logique to barrel the river. Vaillain's range is capped, once bet, most of his range would be draws. I would prefer ending the hand here. Maybe the raise sizing should be bigger.
river : c/r I hit my hand, which was well disguised. Since the flush card is a bad card for my range, I prefer checking to let him bluff all his missed draws. He made the flush, but results aside, since he checked back on the flop, should it still be +EV to raise the river ? I could be very wrong, so please give me your input on this.

Thanks,
Francis.

22:45 You said you were calling the turn to fold the river. Is that profitable in the long run? Because is he has a draw or a 5 he's going to barrel river either way. Great video by the way!
