Could somebody do a video on how to construct 3betting ranges at different BB depths in MTTs for essential plan

Jan. 22, 2018 | 8:22 a.m.

Comment | Aggro Squid commented on Was this ok?

I would certainly lean towards check raising here, as we want to have some hands in our check raising range.

my problem with calling here is this is probably our best bluff to check raise, so if we don't x/r here we can basically have no hands in our x/r range.

I would like to be x/r 44 88 etc here, so I would have this in our x/r range personally.

Hi Guys,

even on the learning paths, the 3betting videos are really scarce.

can anybody recommend videos to help construct 3betting ranges for essential plan?

Jan. 12, 2018 | 7:17 a.m.

Hi Iain,

great video.

I don't know if this is a moot point, but what adjustments would you make vs shorter stacked opponents?

Jan. 12, 2018 | 5:54 a.m.

Thanks for your replies Jeremy, I'd like to add I think your though process explanations are very good, keep up the good work!

At 27:11 with 44 you advocate raising, should we be calling vs shove? or folding?

Nov. 24, 2017 | 4:09 p.m.

Hi Jeremy,

can you talk about opening sizing. At 26:20 we have 17bb and 2.5x utg, would you advocate going 2.5x or just 2 / 2.1bb

Hi Akira,

could you go further into your check on the turn with 99 at 17:45. Can you go over the logic for checking here as opposed to betting. What cards are you betting with 99 and what range are you betting on this specific run out?

Hi Iain,

Nice video.

KK hand at 11:00

I am confused about this whole line to be honest, I can see some merit in increasing the strength of our X/R range with KK, but wouldn't we be betting all our flush draws and straight draws here, meaning we don't really have an x/r range here.

Then OTT, given his range can have AJ QJ and spade draws can we actually fold?

Also at 18:36 what would you do with AQo here if you had 3bet instead of AKo? still call vs SB?

Sept. 7, 2017 | 2:53 p.m.

Hi Decker,

great video! at 11:56 you 3bet AQo and say you sometimes flat sometimes 3bet. What range would you consider 3betting here? Would it be linear or polarized?

Sept. 7, 2017 | 2:43 p.m.

I think we should probably be leading the river here.

When we x the flop after 3betting pre we remove a lot of our flush draws from our range. This means that AT is near the top of our range (along with QK).

Additionally when we bet the river, he calls with Ax that we beat some of the time. whereas when we check villian can x behind all of his Ax that we beat.

As played, given he checks the turn I think we probably have to call, as he probably bets flush draws with some freq on the turn.

Hi,

Yeah I completely agree, my issue is we also block AA and JJ so there is literally only 1 combo of both.

Such an odd spot!

I think cbetting is nice here so we can incorporate our flush draws in our betting range. Either way can't ever fold

Aug. 2, 2017 | 8:29 a.m.

Even at 100k sample your bb/100 win rate can vary by at least 2bb/100! I won't post link but try googling 6 max variance calculator and runnning some sims

So I figure UTG has range of Maybe TT JJ QQ KK AA AK AQ

If sb folds that isn't so bad. I feel like iSB has calling range of QQ KK and AA and maybe AK. I'll crunch the numbers when I get home however Ivhave an incling this is likely going to not be so bad whatsoever given the combos of AA and KK we remove in relation to QQ and the fact he can be 4bet folding with some frequency here

Hi,

Had maybe 3 hands in database vs villain hence no stats it's stars zoom 5nl so not uncommon I guess.

I think here JTss is in my calling range, I would have AJo and maybe KQo or ATo as my 4ber bluffs here JTss has so much equity vs 3bet range seems like a nice hand to flat.

I think I like checking back turn actually also, i think we need to have some strong Jc to check and this fits in that range.

Please could you expand further on this concept of exploitative vs gto? I am trying to develop a solid strategy with good balanced ranges and then adapting in some spots vs weak players

Hi Paul, can you explain why you open to 2.4bb instead of 3 / situations where you would deviate from this strat?

July 28, 2017 | 8:09 a.m.

Hi both thanks for the reply.

So I've been thinking about this a lot and I think All of our Jxs we end up with here should be betting. We would be betting all of our flush draws and straight draws and really only have AJ KJxx QJxx and TJxx here.

We can check back our pairs and air. Despite capping our range his range is capped by his line.

I do however think we should bet call here as villian is likely to be spewing with draws as much as he has straight or JJ (one combo). I feel he's unlikely to check with nuttted hands like straight or sets.

So I think bet call is best line and fits nicely into our range of flush draws and sets.

Any thoughts? Thanks for your help

Thanks guys, I think I prefer the line:

Bigger on flop
Shove turn

With this line we keep in all kq and Kj which I think is what we need to do to make this profitable.

I was pretty sure x on river was a mistake but thanks for clarifying.

Against TAGs a general strategy is to steal more blinds since they fold alot, and give them a lot of heat on boards where their range isn't doing too great.
