Venue:
Perth Casino
Game: 2-5

Villain:
Asian guy mid 20s, very passive, overall bad player. Would limp most of his range up to JJ from any position and station. Occasionally would raise from late position but still with a med-high strength range. Play tight post flop though and sometimes capable of folds, we had one hand a few months ago where I reraised his cb OTF A 6h 9h and he folded AQ. He saw me showing weak hands and bluff so I don't know if he would fold again in the same spot now.

Hero:
known as a aggresive winning regular. Been winning in the session before the following hand against villain occurred an hour before.(Now even with 190bb)

Previous hand:
Effective stack 150bb.
Villain limps Mp, Hero iso 35 from CO with J7s all fold to Villain who calls. I iso him here because he basically plays fit or fold and I can win the pot a lot of times with a cb.

Flop (75)
5 5 4

Hero Bets 50, Villain Calls.

Turn (175)

5

Hero Bet 115, Villain calls.

River (405)

6

Hero goes all in, Villain goes in thank and then calls.

My thinking here is basically that when he calls on the turn he must have a pair and still he would call basically any OTT. I got a blocker for JJ and I think his calling range OTR would be TT+;I actually thought he could fold TT sometimes. Anyway he shows up JJ and take the pot.

A few orbits later.

Hero is now on different position and villain is on his left.
Hero straddle and is dealt As Kh
Villain (covers) Limps Ep
Mp limps
Co limps
Btn limps
BB (13bb) calls

Hero Raises to 70

Villain calls, MP folds, Co folds, Btn Calls and BB is all in for 65.

Flop (295)
Ad 4d 4c

Hero Bets 195

Villain goes in thank and calls. BTN folds.

Turn (685)
Jd

Hero bets 360

Villain goes instant all in.

When he moves in I know I m in a bad spot but what should I do? I know I am committed and I don't think villain has diamonds (the only combo that makes sense would be KdQd, unlikely KdJd) or 4x. I don't think he would move all in with AQ or AxKd though, I think he would call, He must have... AJ but can I ever fold here thinking he s got AJ? WITH 300ish left?? and pot over 300bb??
I don't think we can either check the turn to pot controll...We lose value against AQ sometimes AT and what should I do then if he bets? Is this just another suck out to take??

Any consideration on this and the previous (J7s vs JJ) hand is more then welcome.

I started playing 2/5 with 10k bankroll and bigger downswing I had was 6k. it actually depends but if have good skills and fell confident 9k for 2/4 should be enough

2/4 full of regs in melb? I have played in melb and level is super soft.... go on 9k bankroll if u dont need that money for rent food or whatever is more then enough.. also because rake in 1/3 is too high... insane

In both hands I think your line looks pretty standard but the thing is... In poker nothing should be standard, we are missing all the info on the player. The first hand, yes for sure u dont see a lot of this kind of action in live poker but sometimes u get crazy villain capable of that....For those who says that JJ is a fold I see every day people jamming with garbage in those spot or small pair. It just really depends on the villain. Is he able to think about the dynamic of the table given the maniac on the BB? Most of the villain in live poker dont unless they are regular... Have u seen villain going out of the line many times?? have u seen him overlimping/raising? if yes what was his hand? I think if u want to discuss/play a hand u need infos otherwise we are playing blind poker...

I think u are missing something... I play at Crown in Perth, and here the commission is 10% capped at $15 as well but no jackpot. I usually play 2-5 and on an all in for 100bb is 3bb rake not 7.5bb. Playing 1/3 it s 5bb...
this rake is definitely high but here the level is so soft....so soft...
