15bb/100 is too much redline loss

If you want a particularly sick one

MP vs BU 3bet, check check on JT7r
Q turn, check medium bet call
8 river, check button jams 2.5x pot with JT to fold out 77 and beat the KQ hero

I'm not sure you needed 20 minutes in PIO to determine that floating jack high in a 4bet pot out of position vs a flop raise with a sub 1 SPR going to the turn is spew.

Great series though. Inspires me to play better and more accurate.

So I was actually V in this spot, and my thought process was that

  1. villain can read into my choice to not play an overbet here

  2. the three handed reg profile is distinctively more aggressive in 'big move' lines

  3. I don't want PIO to make fun of me

  4. its incredibly easy for OOP to lose x/x vs like Ad2d and nobody likes that shit

  5. some regs and a lot of recs will just protection shove turn here IP

  6. the Kd follow through is somewhat validating for me

overall I would eyeball the flick here at +$50 maybe but there's obviously not a ton of ways to know. equating this hand and AQhh seems way too strongly assumptive for my tastes, like maybe OOP just rolled the ole 10% on the 99 or thinks T9 is sufficient to fastplay vs 75%.

24:30 holy shit lmao

probably overfold so when I spew off total air like this I'm actually smashing their strategy to pieces instead of just throwing 100bb away like I'm supposed to be. insane to me how this guy folds here.

lmao @ 32 mins I had Ax spades and misclicked on the turn bet (I think I meant to overbet 50 something) then I just felt like going for it

RIO elite as of late has become full of strategy videos that feel like a freshman writing a bloated essay and videos that are just crank self-help stuff.

I made one of those 2nd nut A-high calls vs 1st A-high the other day in nearly exact same spot. Feels fucking bad man.

I play mostly 200nl but would like to call dibs anyways if possible.

Some things I would be interested in

-deep play OOP 3b pots

-when to deviate from 'raw' mdf in range-challenging runouts

-how to structure cbetting strategy on straight boards OOP

also one specific question for live play, how should you adjust to a BTN straddled game in which the action begins in SB (5/5/10 or 5/10/25 for instance)?

Population overfolds almost everywhere vs any sizing, so yeah.

They also underbluff everywhere. It's the bad-reg cycle.

The other regs in our pool almost never do this type of shit so I wonder sometimes.

Thanks Nick. It isn't such a secret for me though. I want to book the win because then I can carry the mild euphoria throughout the rest of my day. The reason to keep playing is of course money, I just don't have any monetary goals at the moment because I'm past the 'grind for rent stage' and the 'set myself for life' thing which is my purpose for playing poker is so vague and distant. I guess I need to find a way to make poker itself more of a passion... but essentially bumhunting these cash games feels so uninspiring. Maybe moving would help. Mexico or something like that.

I agree strongly with these posts and have little tilt issues now, but I'm hitting my stop-loss or stop-win (not hard limit, I just feel strong impulse against continuing when up big) so frequently my volume is becoming awful. Like this month I tried a volume goal and I started losing very badly the first day and tried to push through it and ended up tilting off some money. Then I scrapped this idea and I just played normally with my conservative limits, so this month I had good results (five figure at midstakes), no tilt, but very shitty volume. I feel trapped in the middle of this. I guess I should start by trying to get past my stop-win behaviors but I play like shit when I'm upstuck too so that's also a risk.

I guess that's the rake for 500 zoom? It's a good bit rougher where I'm at. Could be convinced that 3balling AQo is more winning but standard for me is 3bet AQs, call AQo, always folding A9o.

Jan. 25, 2018 | 10:17 p.m.

If you can 4 table zoom it shouldn't be too hard. Doing it on reg tables would be brutal though I'm sure.

This was a very predictable result. The over under was set at 9.5 and it ended in the tenth due to a TKO coming primarily due to exhaustion. McGregor looked reasonably sharp and fast early but was expending an atrocious amount of energy. All his movements were really dramatic and he wasn't picking his shots well. I enjoyed watching it (and the money I won from Floyd), but overall it wasn't particularly interesting. Furthermore, Conor's power was really atrocious in this fight because he didn't seem to understand how to throw with his core from a boxing stance. He gets a lot of torque on his shots in MMA and to see how weak his punches were really undermined any real chance of a flash knockout.
