I ended up making the call based on gut instinct and live read and he showed up with A5hh and he rivered a 5 for trips. The reason I was asking about sizing on flop was because maybe if I bet 1/3 pot he wouldn't feel inclined to shove turn? Pot would only be like 850k ish? And he would still have about 1.2 behind? Or am I just being results oriented?

Good points! Can someone comment on sizing on this board texture?

Day 3, 35 left out of 5500 players . Villain (SB) an old guy just got moved to my table no further reads. Blinds 40k/80k 10k ante. 9 handed. I have about 1.3M and raise to 160k in middle position with KcQc. Folds to Villain in SB and he calls and BB calls. Pot is 570k. Flop comes Qd9d5h. Check to me and I bet 300k. SB insta calls and BB folds. Pot is 1.17M. Turn Jh and SB open ships for around 1M having me covered. I have about 830K left.

3 questions for all you MTT wizards:

  1. Sizing on flop - good or bad and why?

  2. What is villain range for calling flop open shipping turn?

  3. Do we call or fold?

Thanks guys!
