Novice Speaking:
Without knowing villain's hand... 3 bets are very AA heavy so a set of J or T seems less likely.
SPR being low (around 3) we have 1 pair and a wrap. Would rip it in 100%

Looks like I may be overplaying a bit.
Checked this spot in Vision. (bet size was off, didn't give a near pot lead) It splits it depending on suits. Flush draws and no BDFD or FD blockers tend to call. BDFD and FD blockers seem to rip it.

I'm a little new to poker theory so take this with a grain of salt.
What about betting the flop small as a range bet? Hero is the 3 better, board looks border line between wet and dry, and looks border line between strongly favoring the 3 better vs the caller. It could go either way.

If we are being polarized on the flop then this would be an easy check? If we are not being polarized this makes an easy small bet?

Calling suited connectors on the button in a multiway pot against a standard open and a flat is too loose?

April 9, 2017 | 12:05 a.m.

hero is cutoff with 10c 9c (effective stack is 370)
Villain opens to 12.
I call, button calls and BB and SB call.
($60) Flop is As Kc Qc
Checks to villain. He bets 45. I call. Button and SB fold . BB calls.
($195) Turn is 9H
BB checks, Villain bets $45.
I call, BB calls.
($330) River is the 8s
BB checks, Villain Checks. I shove for $270.
BB folds. Villain..

As played good/bad? looking for feedback.
BB was non issue. He looked like he was looking for a reason to fold and was essentially donating money to the pot.

I do both. Depending on table. Against Tags I tend to flat. Against lags or fish I lean towards 4 betting. The wider villains range the more I 4 bet or shove. If I think my opponent is capable of 3 betting 56ss I just 4 bet.

Agreed to reduced fold equity at NL5. There are enough agro fish and calling stations that 3 and 4 betting range should be value heavy until your opponents announce they are week by folding too much.

and 4 bets for that matter.

At nl5 it seems that most players flat 3 bets with AK from any position. At least on the site I play.

My live read was fine. And the fold ended up being correct. Villain showed k6cc. Fold "felt" a little nitty before he showed the hand to the table. Since I saw what he had and was correct I wanted feedback that wasn't biased by "hey I was right".

That is not an uncommon spot though.
Thanks for the feedback.

He likely thought you had a better q than him and took the 9 pairing as a chance to Bluff you off it.

March 27, 2017 | 10:39 p.m.

Thanks all for the feedback. In retrospect you are right the 25 % is super assumptive as his range is likely wider. I saw his hand after the fact and used it to construct the range which is crap.

AS FOR THE straddles you are right. They can straddle from anywhere and often straddle the button. Normal straddle from button is 10 or 15 in a 1/3 game. Can be interesting since they don't like to fold.

Post | RNG posted in NLHE: Live 1/3 Hand. Good River Fold?

First Post to run it once.
This is from a live game I played over the weekend. I do okay with live reads and exploitative play. Not very solid on balancing my range or GTO.
Villain is slightly sticky but otherwise somewhat straightforward. BB defend range is about 25% to include all suited aces, Suited kings, pairs and suited 1 gapers down to 64 and 2 gapers down to 96.

Effective stack size is $250.

Hero is in CO with A10SS
Villain is in BB.
Folds around to me. I open to $10.
Villain Calls.

Flop is 10d 6c 2h
Villain Checks, I bet 15. He calls.

Turn is the 5c,
Villain checks I bet $30.

River is the Ks,
Villain leads for $50.
I toss a few questions at him to get a read and end up folding.

Would appreciate any feed back.

How manic is your maniac? First time you have seen him jam effective 2x pot on flop like that? Or does he slow down post flop?

Feb. 24, 2017 | 5:32 a.m.

Same way. Never folding that hand with that stack size so if he has K s or FH then he can have my atck. Can get called by ax, smaller flushes and straights. OOP so don't like checking river as they are likely to check back a lot of hands that we beat.

Comment | RNG commented on Do i have to fold here?

Second the stack compliment. Seemed to be wrecking that table.

I personally don't like calling with that little show down value because it is too easy to lose to any random pair.

Comment | RNG commented on Do i have to fold here?

Would have been ok leading turn as a delayed c bet. Don't like the call on that Board. When we checked twice we are announcing we have nothing. If going to check call would rather have a little more show down value for bluff catching.

Comment | RNG commented on AK vs Co - bad play

Looks like AK vs AK. Or you lost to 99 or 10 10. Why not lead turn?

Feb. 15, 2017 | 6:38 a.m.

Besides a bdfd. What card do you want to see on the turn?

Comment | RNG commented on Fold to fish jam?

Was he aggressive post flop though? I play with some regular agro fish. Always have to remember how they play post flop. Passive and ABC or face rolling the keyboard after hot keying everything to bet or jamb buttons.

If the later then top pair top kicker is way ahead of his range which is hole deck.

Feb. 14, 2017 | 7:27 p.m.

Fold or 3 bet if he squeezes light. If you call the Limpers will almost certainly call. And then you are oop against a tag that might cbet into you with several players behind. Also could be dominated vs a "solid tag grinder" would rather flat here with a pocket for set mining or a suited ace for a chance to cooler someone.

That's my thought.

Feb. 14, 2017 | 5:51 p.m.

Hand 2. Seems like there is a better hand to put a quarter of your stack in preflop with.

Don't understand the X's. Did you flop a flush or was it just monotone and you bluffed.

Feb. 14, 2017 | 5:39 p.m.

I like the turn call. He could be betting an random a of diamonds plus all the two pairs. I'm calling if I hit an A, 9 or pair the duece. Hoping he just checks down the river but folding unimproved to that bet size.

Is this thinking flawed?

Feb. 14, 2017 | 5:07 p.m.

I'm still relatively new to plo. Are straight flushes common enough to lay down nut flush at micro stakes or is it just that we are 230 bb deep? I would have handed over my stack in that scenario in microstakes since we don't block the k high flush.

Comment | RNG commented on Bad shove?

Like the CB on the flop. Fold to the raise.

Feb. 13, 2017 | 8:48 p.m.

What value hand do you beat? AQ. You lose to diamonds, j10, qj, q10, 98, blocking k10.

Feb. 13, 2017 | 8:38 p.m.

As played those with 17/16 pre flop stats its a fold. You block the second nut flush. No suited Q's for him to spaz with since he 3 bet pre, all the above comments and he jammed for 2x pot on the river.
