Post | theslywolf posted in Chatter: ICMizer range question

Hi, I was doing some tests on the ICMizer SNG Coach and it showed me in that situation I'm upploading that 77 is a fold and 66 is a push which doesn't make sense to me, is it a bug from the software or there is any logical reason behind this?

Hero (97bb) opens to 2.5x with 8s8d MP, Villain 152 / 18 / 11, 50% F2CB peels CO (54bb), everyone else folds.
Flop comes 2h 9h Ad, Hero - ?

Do you c-bet here or c/give up? And (if) you c-bet do you ever follow up with a barrel ott.
I feel like villain is going to call my c-bet pretty wide and I'm gonna be put in a very shitty spot ott.

On 18:00 don't you think it is better to check back the turn? He has a lot of pocket pairs, and hands like KQs, QJs with bd fd that might call our c-bet and when we bet this turn we are narrowing our range to mostly value. The other reason is we have a lot more Ax in our range and it's not like we are going to double barrel TT or KQ (I assume?). By checking we allow him to bluff the river and especially I don't like this 3/4 sizing it kinda makes no sense to me on this texture, we don't need protection and kinda only scare him off the pot + from his point of view, we must assume he still might have some 9x in his calling BB range otf so we wouldn't want to inflate the pot that much with our bluffs. (I hope you get what I mean :D)

On the last hand, I think you kinda give away with this flop bet. I agree with the reasons you said, that he must have some sort of mediocre value, however, again, if you didn't have an Ace or set, would you bet on that flop, given he is perceived to have some Aces in his range when 3-betting you, you'd most likely check hand like QJ or KQ or 88 or etc. I think exploitatively it's better to check back and under rep our hand, given that we are in position as well.

What about buying cheap showdown/value for 1/3 on the turn @10:25 as the board gets a bit wetty and we give them a big chance to improve + what do you do if you face a 1/2 pot sized bet otr?

About the 44 hands, I don't really think we should be c-betting it. It is very nasty board that hits him quite often and we are going to be put in a tough spot on a lot of rivers and turns given that he is CL, in position and obv he is not afraid to get funky postflop. Yes we have to check give up which will not make us any money but given the situation on the FT and considering the spot we are ICM wise it should not be that bad of a fold. Given the way the hand played out I was also thinking to bluff lead the ace on the river for huge sizing as it hits our range more often and (potentially) might make him fold a random Jack + it also reps a seven quite well. Thoughts on that line?

Other than that, great video, I like the way you analyse the hands and look forward for more. :)

What do we achieve with 3-betting 44, we will be in awkward spot if we get 4-bet and if peeled, we can take down the pot as we are in position, however the guy has low fold to c-bet and we might again have to face tough decision whereas we are both deep and set mining + the ability to call of the re-shove stacks if the OR folds makes calling the much better option imo.

what do u think about making it a bit bigger on 17:55 with TT just to look a bit more bluffy?

K7s, top right, too weak to open from CO on 13:20? What is the bottom of your range in this exact spot?

on 12:00 I actually don't think 6s is a good card to barrel as he will have decent amount of Qx, flush draws with which he is not folding, some 7x as well but he might hero call your 2nd barrel and otr you will have hard time doing anything and I would much prefer to continue betting on 10,J,K or A 3/4 size of the pot which will scare him off from the flush draws, lower pairs and potentially set up the things for a exploitative river shove on good cards (again, depends on the player and how capable of folding he is but I believe most competent players will not stick it in with just a queen on this kind of action)

What do you do if he raises the turn with the A10 on KQJJ (around 15 min)?
