I'm an aerospace engineering student from the Netherlands and I've been playing poker for about 2 years with moderate succes. Was breakeven for a long time when I started out on 2NL/5NL/10NL on Pokerstars. This was the case until last summer where I played on a website which doesn't allow tracking. It was a very unknown rake-free site and over the summer I made about 4000 euros playing mainly NL and some PLO. On this site I played up to 200NL/200PLO, but during this summer I also played some live 2/2 NL.

Didn't play much after this summer break due to a lack of time and motivation.. Lately I've been thinking about poker more and decided to pick it up again. During that summer I already realized that I enjoyed playing PLO more and I felt the potential edge was bigger. As long as I'm able to withstand the mental stress that can come with the added variance, it should be a no-brainer that PLO is the game for me. The site I used to play on doesn't exist anymore and I will therefore be trying my hand at the zoom games over on Pokerstars.

I know that people often say that other sites are better to play on since they have rakeback whereas on Pokerstars it's fairly nonexistent. Pokerstars, however, has a better rake structure and this somewhat compensates for the lack of rakeback compared to other sites. The competition on Pokerstars (especially zoom) is probably tougher (lower winrate), but given the fact that 4-tabling zoom allows me to get much more hands in per hour I think that for my hourly it shouldn't be a big difference. An additional advantage of playing this volume is that I will improve more as a player, since I will be exposed to more situations in the same period of time.

I have a $1000 bankroll and will be starting off at 25PLO zoom. I will adhere to the following BRM strategy:
- Always have 40 buyins for a certain level. That means If I reach a bankroll of $400 I have to move down to 10PLO.
- Take shots when I have 40 buyins for a level + 10 buyins on the next one. That means I will take a 50PLO shot at 25x40 + 50x10 = $1500. I will continue on this level until I lose the 10 buyins reserved for the shot and am back to 40 buyins on the previous level.

I am planning on playing an average of at least 1K hands a day, and study for 1 hour a day. Studying I am defining as watching runitonce videos/reading hand histories on runitonce/2p2. Also, I will post updates in this thread regularly to hold myself accountable.
