9-max $1.50 SNG -- outkicked w/5's on Q-high board from BB

Blinds: t15/t30 (9 Players) BN: 629
SB: 943
BB: 1,695 (Hero)
UTG: 1,561
UTG+1: 2,204
MP: 1,524
MP+1: 1,546
MP+2: 1,003
CO: 2,395
Preflop (45) Hero is BB with 5 3
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls 30, 6 folds, Hero checks
V is loose but small sample of only 18 hands. Early going (level 2).
Flop (111) 4 5 2
Hero bets 74, UTG+1 calls 74
I lead on a good flop for my holding. (On an important side: am I thinking in sub-optimal terms? I.e. should I rather be thinking about relative ranges rather than whether a flop is "good for my holding" or not?)
Turn (259) 4 5 2 Q
Hero bets 180, UTG+1 calls 180
Was this turn bet -EV?
River (619) 4 5 2 Q 9
Hero checks, UTG+1 checks
Final Pot BB lost and shows a pair of Fives.
UTG+1 wins and shows a pair of Fives.
UTG+1 wins 619

Did I just get 'unlucky' here or was the way I played this line -EV?
