I thought I would review this hand to improve my turn play. In game I knew this was a mistake, but I still clicked bet (will have to watch out for that!).

Preflop: Standard 3bet with TT.

Flop: 9s 7c 4h. Not the best board for us. CO has all of the sets. We most likely only have 99. Fortunately, though, we have all of the overpairs. My PIO research indicates that we should be using a large bet sizing on this board (9 high rainbow). I go ahead an bet 75% of the pot. I am betting for value and protection. Looks like PIO bets TT ~70% of the time. CO calls, which he should be doing with most of his range. Raise candidates for the CO are JJ, TT, JTs, 89 and 87.

Turn: Ah. Great card for our range. This is where I made a mistake though. With this turn card our over pairs move down in our range. I decided to bet 33% pot. This combo should be a pure check. PIO likes two bet sizings on the turn: small (33%) and large (66%). Large sizing can include: good aces (AK, AQ) and KQ as a bluff. Small sizing can include other aces, 77 and 65. We want to check out top sets (AA, 99, but not 77 as it unblocks CO's calling/raising range). We also want to check our pairs TT - KK (these would obviously be check calls to a bet). Facing a bet CO can raise its best aces, top pairs and sets.

Lesson: On the turn think about how my range looks as a whole, bet the top and some bluffs that make sense. Check the middle part of my range!
