Can we ever bet river?

Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 (6 Players) BN: $105.10
SB: $59.19
BB: $64.97
UTG: $51.60
MP: $54.45 (Hero)
CO: $46.86
Preflop ($0.75) Hero is MP with A A
UTG folds, Hero raises to $1.25, 3 folds, BB calls $0.75
Flop ($2.75) 8 8 5
BB checks, Hero bets $1.61, BB raises to $4.82, Hero calls $3.21
Turn ($12.39) 8 8 5 4
BB bets $9.42, Hero calls $9.42
River ($31.23) 8 8 5 4 9
BB checks, Hero checks

Flop I think is a pretty standard call vs their raise. Villain can have quite a few 8X and also 55, but at the same time there are way bluffs here, flush and straight draws and hands villain is trying to protect that also have backdoor equity.

Turn villain bets quite big which although looks very strong I still think there are a lot more high equity bluffing hands than value hands in this situation.

River, clubs get there and villain checks. 55's should definitely be betting to get value from over pairs and flush's. Same with 99.
By betting we're never folding out any flush's, straights or 8X and only getting calls from weaker pairs. So assuming this checking back is correct play here?

Any adjustments you'd make to flop or turn?
