Folded straight - Your opinions

Hi everyone,

just played this hand on Stars, Full Ring .5/1 NL
Unfortunately I only have a very small sample of 18 hands on the villain. VPIP/PFR 17/11, the other stats should be irrelevant due to the small sample size.

My thoughts:

I raise 2.5x, BB calls. With the suited ace I want to see a flop, so I dont raise bigger (for SB vs BB steal I usually raise 3x).
I hit top pair and backdoor straight draw. I CB little more than half PSB. There is a flush draw, but I think betting bigger here wont make him fold his draws.
On the turn the flush draw gets there and I'm not happy, even though i picked up some equity on my straight. Probably lots of suited cards hin his defending range and also he called my CB on the flop.
I decide to block bet rather small and get raised big. I have no reads on the villain. Could mean anything. I guess more often than not he will have IT
I call. Big mistake I think...
I river the straight and check. Villain shoves on me. I hate my life and fold.

What are your thoughts?
