Resteal against aggressive opponent, top pair good kicker and trying to check shove.

This morning I learned from Pokerstars school that we should never call from SB (except if there is bad player on the bb or good implied odds), and this happens.

At 15.20

This rule made me very confused because earlier I have called widely from SB. Because of this I lost lot of money today because I have no idea how to post-flop after 3bet from SB. This is a big problem area for me and really need to figure this out asap.

How do you think I played this hand?

Villains stats:

VPIP:20
PFR: 16
AF: 6
F3B: 63

I made 3bet for two purposes, getting value and because his F3B is high, good possibility that he will give up with hand and give me free money. Opp calls. I have a top pair great kicker, because opp is aggressive, I tried to give him possibility to bet and then I will just shove in due of low SPR. He checked and board gets paired. Awkward situation. I made a bet, I think that was a huge mistake. Opp raise, I call, on the River I made a blocking bet (yeah, I know, pathetic move) and villain shoves. I played this hand very terribly. Which are my biggest mistakes?
