Check back or Barrel Off?

CO: $50.44
BN: $17.62
SB: $91.02
BB: $42.09
UTG: $46.25
HJ: $50.18 (Hero)
Villain is a loose recreational player, playing a very wide range preflop. Fold to flop cbet 4/13 so far, fold to turn cbet 0/4.
Preflop ($0.75) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt 6 4 5 8
UTG folds, Hero raises to $1.50, CO folds, BN folds, SB calls $1.25, BB folds
Flop ($3.50) 7 K 8 (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $2.51, SB calls $2.51
Pretty std I think. Checking back isn't bad, but I see this as a pure value bet against someone who'll be flatting preflop and on the flop with hands like KQ92ss.
Turn ($8.52) 7 K 8 2 (2 Players)
SB checks
Turn is a pure blank, and I don't expect villain to fold much of his range to a 2nd barrel. Question is, do we check back and try to realize equity, often losing when we don't improve, or do we go for a tripple barrel to apply maximum pressure on his weak range?

If your answer is very read-based here, how would you play it vs a more solid opponent?
