Good night everyone.
I have a puzzle and cannot go to sleep until i find the right answer)
when playing isolate you usually make a bet like 3bb+[1 bb per 1 limper], right? i once learned this theory and think it kinda works.
But when somebody raises 3bb before me and 1-3 after him calls...what size of 3bet do i have to make? (it's called squeeze, right?)
Like 3 times his bet plus every other caller's bet?

Totally agree. I can only add that 3x opening is standard for every position except CO BU SB. Open-raising from that positions are good with 2.4-2.5 size. Your bet-size from other positions must be the same (it can be adjusted to bigger size when you see fish who could pay, as belrio42 said)

I'd like to make poker a big part of my life. and i want to achieve results. when i hear about downswings i usually read about 4-5 buy-ins downswings. but when i have lost more than 10-20 buy-ins...is it a downswing at all? or i just don't know how to play poker?

yes that's right. I decided that 1 sept 2018 was my 'start_challenge' date. from that point i played about 30k hands with +8-10 bb/100 and achieving about 50-60$ i decided to try a limit above and started to play both nl2 and nl5 and reached about 90$.
considering the fact that i started from 10$ deposit i was happy :)
then i stared losing. and after going back to about 50$ i stopped nl5 and from then i played only nl2. there are no lower stakes to play:)
You see, looking at my results i was confident. but now i don't know.

in my good period i had about 8-10 bb/100. now i have -1.5 bb/100
my stats are pretty standard and are about VPIP 18, PFR 13, 3bet 5.5
from session to session stats are a bit different, sometimes more tight, sometimes are about 25/20 or smith.
i'm not speaking of specific hands but about the whole tendencies. i try to be aggressive, win both with showdown and without one. but on that distance it worked on first 30k hands (so i decided that im successful), but then smth switched off and in almost every spot i lose pot and lose all-ins.

Hi everyone. i'm pretty new to this site. But i like the community and decided to share my problem expecting to get some support and advice.
i play poker for some time (maybe couple of years) but it has always been just a hobby with a dream of making some $$$. i usually deposited about 10 dollars and played sng or cash (not both the same time). Tried to learn theory from different sources. all this time i learned something new and honed skills in poker. it wasn't very quick because i have a job and it was always something a little bit more than just a hobby.
from September 2018 i decided to take it seriously and make my last deposit and from that moment i played about 47k hands and i had a good results in the first 2/3 jf played hands, but all the rest till this moment i lost. first i made about 90 dollars out of 10 (tried to jump from NL2 to NL5 when bankroll become about 30 buy-ins), but then i lost everything. i play pretty standard. don't think im tilting, may be a bit.
I just want to understand, something is wrong with me or it is just normal situation and after a downstreak there will be success?
