Ty, don't even know why I'm asking, it's too obvious :D I mean I wasn't sure because of that UTG openlimp but as it's unknown we can't change our range too much especially when there is quite big bounty on shoving player. Would change my calling range if I had read that he often/or only traps monsters by limping like this..

Thanks, thats's exactly my plan right now. I want to get better so I can possibly beat tournaments with buy-ins up to $20 (lowstakes) by the end of this year. So this path may be suitable for this. Once I reach this goal I will go for elite membership or some other (more pricy :D) course and start working with PIO solver etc so I can beat highstakes one day :-D I may even start a Journal here. Thanks for your response :)

Hi guys, could you pls watch the hand in replayer and tell whether this reshove is ok? Was played vs unknown players. I guess we have to go for it 100% sure given the size of the bounty. I can't be scared of UTG limping and give up so much value there.

I couldnt load the hand from Bounty Builder to forum for some reason, that's why I post in replayer :D Thanks

Gonna get HRC soon, I rly need it to learn these shortstack spots. So you think he could be reshoving smth like 8% with 19bb from CO? It seems possible and that calling range should be also right..

Ye, I think I'm gonna try that MTT course videos here first, should be golden for small stakes MTTs and understanding principles of MTTs. The price is also pretty good.

March 12, 2019 | 1:26 p.m.

Hi guys, I recently switched from cash games to MTTs and I like it much more, I enjoy MTTs more than grinding some NL10 and NL25 for hours again and again.

I also started to study the game regularly which I quite didn't do before...

Therefore I have some question mainly about studying MTT strategy.

  1. What is the best way of studying when I want to get better as fast as possible? I try to read at least few strategy articles per week on the internet and I post hands here or on discord poker groups. I also analyze hands I'm not sure about in equilab. Was thinking about some MTT course but I quite don't want to spend like $500+ when my total profit is like $1.300 so far. Are there any cheaper courses suitable for small stakes players mainly?

  2. What software would you recommend to me? I use HM 2, Stars Helper and Equilab so far. Was looking at HRC and it seems pretty good for the price. My biggest leaks are in playing short as I'm not used to playing short as a former CG player. So I mainly want a software that would help me with reshoving ranges and calling ranges when stacks are small. I generally play way too tight in these spots. ICMizer looks nice but it seems better for SNG players or maybe final table analysis of MTT. I don't know. Some tips?

Thanks for help :)

March 11, 2019 | 11:13 p.m.

Ty, It's quite hard to get used to playing this short as I was playing cash game before. It seems insanely wide to me sometimes :-D

March 11, 2019 | 10:31 p.m.

I made a calculation in equilab - range vs range but I made it wrong I guess...When he folds a lot we can go wider (he had 33% FT3B OOP but sample is too small) but I think he will call quite a lot here given the odds he has vs 13bb shove and the range you wrote may be good here I guess. It was 6max MTT so players tend to play looser generally...Should train with software like ICMizer more I guess...May be the best way to learn right reshoving ranges right? Or what is the best way to learn these ranges?

Comment | Treysix commented on Q7s BB 3way pot

Ye I would go for full pot or something like that as we are polarized there but problem is, that this board is not even good for our range, as I preflop squeeze lots of kings here and flat lower suited kings only, the river generally isnt good for our range here plus we block some of his possible folds here with 7 and diamonds...x/f should be right here

Comment | Treysix commented on Q7s BB 3way pot

Sry somehow misread the hand xD

Feb. 25, 2019 | 2:31 p.m.

Yes, I think we don't have much fold equity here...maybe 25%-30% of his worst hands but I guess he will mostly 3bet linear range here versus this small stack with intention of calling possible reshove. I would go with that TT+ and AJo+ probably, I'm nit tho :-D

Comment | Treysix commented on NL10 AA 4bet SB vs BB

Ye, generally the smaller bet is better on dry boards that are better for our range..bigger sizing for value is good when we are against weak player so we get more value even if he has weak hands when he is fish or calling station

and what sizing would you recommend when i choose to 4bet with that range I mentioned in the post ?

So is it better to call or 4bet like 2.5x-3x with my range ? Not sure about that preflop now

Ye I was thinking about that, would betting 1/2 pot on the flop with strong hands + some bluffs better ?

Comment | Treysix commented on NL10 AA 4bet SB vs BB

Thanks, that's what I think too....looks like KK or TT almost 100% of times. And you are right, he would cbet turn if he picks GS and K on the turn. Fold feels bad but in this spot it's right decision given the line and runout...I'm beaten 100% of times on the river basically...TT or AA is only option...with mid hands he doesn't shove because I only call with better here...
