Hey everyone!

This is my first blog ever. I will try to update it as much possible.
My name is Mohit. I was born in India and I live in the U.S.
I created this post to motivate me and also because I think I have finally found what I love to do the most in life. That is to play/learn/compete at poker.
Ever since I was young, I've always loved cards and any sort of strategy games. I used to do magic tricks, I played an immense amount of chess and I played fortnite (although I got killed all the time I still loved the strategy the game had to offer).

History – Almost none; I started playing poker with my friends during my last year of college. During this time, I was very interested in my studies and took them very seriously. However, I completely fell in love with poker after playing it a lot with my friends (thank you so much friends). I became super interested in the game, the competition and it's strategy. During that time I didn't have money for poker, so I played 5k+ hands for playmoney on pokerstars just for fun. In the meantime, I also took a couple trips to the casino, played in a couple tournaments and played a couple hands on ACR but nothing with high volume. I recently graduated couple months ago with a bachelors degree but my love for poker has grew so much and it's been there for so long, I truly don't think I would love to do anything more in this world than compete at poker. I come from a very poor family, but this spontaneous burst of interest in poker was not for monetary gain. Money has never been a motivation for me to do anything…ever, I want to do this because I like the game and it's really true passion. I just want to be really really good and compete at a high level.

Short Term Goals – I subscribed as an Elite member, so I plan on ripping through and understanding all the NLHE, MTT, etc. content on the site because I have some time on my hands right now. (This is going to take time; any suggestions on how to study the information fast, understand it and retain it all?) Participate and read forums (networking). Invest in a windows desktop. Start putting in some volume of hands. Improve consistently. Sleep schedule, diet and exercise could use some improvement. Stay happy, focused, disciplined and grind harder than ever on a daily basis.

Long Term Goals – Become a good confident winning poker player at mid stakes & keep grinding. Move out of country (may be canada) and play on PokerStars (because who wants to play on ACR forever at mid/high stakes; I also believe online poker is the best and quickest way to improve aswell).

Long Long Term Goals – Keep grinding, keep studying, keep moving up stakes, and eventually one day become one of the best in the world.

Right Now Goals – Stay highly focused, super motivated, strictly disciplined. I have a mac right now so I am going to invest in a cheap windows desktop soon so I can run PT4 with ACR and track my progress. I also need it to download other programs I will need in the future like CREV, equilab, holdem viewer etc. I am hoping this post will help me stay motivated through this upcoming journey. I also lack some outside support (especially from family) because poker is usually looked down upon and brushed away more as a gambling than a skill based game. My parents who were born and raised in India are old-fashioned and they aren't happy at all that I have an interest for poker and would ever choose this as a career. But I don't care what anyone thinks/says, what happens or what type of hardships I have to face now or in the future – I really like this game and I am going to give it all my time and energy no matter what happens.

I know this post has a lot of crazy goals and is an extremely ambitious one, especially coming from someone who is just starting out. I have no natural ability/talent in relation to poker and by no means am a good player right now. But, I do believe in the philosophical thinking that anything is achievable through sacrifice, dedication and hard work. Yes, almost all of it is very unlikely but it’s not impossible. So I am going to give it everything I can to achieve it because that’s the purpose of a goal.

I don’t know what/when I am going to post here but I will make sure to post everything (all progress) that relates to this post. Thank you to everyone who actually read the whole thing. Suggestions would be great. Should be a really fun journey. Wish me luck :)
