Such a great video. I've recognized some of these spots and they most definitely work from 25NL-50NL. Thanks for re-iterating and showing me some new ones, great, great content!

I think checking turn and realizing your equity is fine here. You could continue turn and fold out some 6x, 4x, 55 etc. as you have all the strong Ax combos and he is probably 3betting his stronger Ax., but could also flat his offsuit Ax that he's calling turn. You're also blocking flush draws which you want to fold out with a large turn barrel, so I think your turn check is probably best.

All that said, I agree with Jbarez, he shouldn't have any boats as all of them should have mostly raised flop, I think he shows up with flushes often all of which he's calling vs a shove.

Really enjoyed this one Henry, thanks for coming down to my stakes and showing me how it's done! Hope to see more of this :)

Here is the spot on cardschat replayer:
https://www.cardschat.com/replayer/19Ad0a70y

Summarize:
8-max Tourney
UTG opened 2.2bbs from 35bb stack.
Folded to me in the SB with JJ, 82bb stack.
I didn't really feel good about 3betting OOP vs UTG and calling off if he shoves for 1/2 my stack but this might just be standard and I'm a nit?

Anyways, I called, flop 545r. I check, BB who also called leads 1/2 pot. UTG calls, I just folded...? Also super nitty?
I figured UTG would fold most of his broadway opens and call his big pairs. BB could still have 5x, so I decided to fold.

I felt out of place all hand. Any thoughts? Don't be afraid to call me a bafoon.

Hey Henry, welcome! Great video, really enjoy how clear and concise your thought process is. It's so clean & quick that I had to rewind a few times just to take in exactly what you said lol. It would be really nice to hear some of your back-story to see how long you've been playing, studying methods, etc that brought you to this confidence in your game. Looking forward to more videos!

Really enjoyed this video Paul. I'm just essential and don't have PIO, but it's nice to see how it is used to breakdown lines. I also like the suggestion above for doing an intro into PIO. Would still like to see some live sessions too though, always enjoy those!

Hey Paul great video again!
Just some general questions for you:
1)When do rake effects not become so much of an issue? It seems all the way up to 100nl there are rake implications based on videos.
2)You often say "this is close" or something along those lines...does that mean from a theoretical perspective? Or theoretical + rake effects? Or general opinion?
3) Just curious what your regular stakes are?

Thanks :)

Also, maybe you can do a video of how the high rake effects or should effect strategy. Just a thought. Take care, excited for your next video!

Hi Paul,
Just curious at 10:19. You say 99 isn't an appropriate bet for value which I agree with. But, is there any merit for betting for protection? Or no because you're semi-bluffing your gutters/flush draws...?
Also, would a bet from him make sense on the river had the turn gone c/c or no for the same reasons you stated on the turn?
