Thank you, this is very helpful and makes sense as to what we are trying to achieve with this bet sizing and strategy

Thank you for detailed explanation and examples. FTGU does introduce the strategies the way you explained it based on board textures, but since they also had a different type of opponent on the examples I got a bit confused but this makes much more sense now. Thanks again !

Post | SW6 posted in NLHE: Float Bet Sizing on the Flop

Hi all,

I just finished the FTGU lesson on float betting the flop and I would like to get a better idea of the sizing that we are wanting to implement on the two different strategies.

So against a better reg where we are using a polarized float betting strategy, it makes sense to go with a bigger bet imo to apply more pressure with our bluffs and gain more value from our strong hands (around 60-75% pot)

I am unsure of what bet sizing I would like to implement with a merged flop float betting strategy since we are betting everything it makes sense to go with a smaller sizing, but I feel like a small bet (around 33% pot) does not really apply any pressure here and even an ABC reg would feel comfortable to continue with Ace-high, underpairs type of hands.

It also does not make sense for me to go as big on the merged strategy because it becomes easy to exploit.

I would appreciate any input on this topic.

Thanks!
