The near min raise in very interesting.
Really looks like AQ to be honest esp if hes weak tight.
Really would like to hear what kind of range you think villain is capable of min raising and betting small on turn with.
Do you believe he mixes sets.like this min raising flop/betting small turn?
Would he min raise flop/bet small turn with AJss, etc?
Does he shove at end?

"Is this a 3bet pre? If not, why not?"

If youre not 3 betting QK here what better choice hand are you 3 betting with as it has most combos of blockers

"No its not and its quite bad deep oop. Why? Because you get yourself into exactly into spots like these. You're in a bloated pot, oop, with a hand that only makes good top pairs - which is what you dont want when you're 500 deep."

Theres really not much difference here between hero having QK or AQ though. Villain isnt/shouldnt take this linen with AQ so QK should be the nuts top pair.
You really couldnt ask for a better board to have top pair here on...If the board were wet sure but here are you really only suggesting hero get involved with 2 pair+ just because heros 500bbs deep?
Seems like a recipe for being exploited either postflop or else giving up ev preflop

" I havent run this but I would think that solver would hate a bet here, especially that big becuase getting raised would be horrible with this hand, oop & deep. Even if you look at a SRP a solver would x a lot here in your shoes -"

Mixing checks in seems fine as hero and villain seem about equal in range advantage but I cant imagine a solver would favor one over the other very heavily.
But I would be thinking the solver would be mixing in some checks here for balance to be able to call off a tripple barrel with top pair by the river on this run out, not pot control.
What am I missing?

"But we usually want to go even more polar this deep from the BB, so still i guess flatting is superior."

What about

" My question is wouldn't this leave our calling range weak and vulnerable to aggressive barreling on turns and rivers? Can't BTN just barrel aggressively and with frequent overbets to pressure our weak range? "

Also these two questions weren't answered ...

" My question is wouldn't this leave our calling range weak and vulnerable to aggressive barreling on turns and rivers? Can't BTN just barrel aggressively and with frequent overbets to pressure our weak range? Also say we x/r a medium strength thin value hand like the A4s mentioned in the video. Turn comes a picture card. Now what? If we bet again it becomes really thin and unclear whether it's thin value or in bluff territory. If we check we give up control of the pot and equity denial "

" So basically KJs/AJs/JJ/TT/JTs/KQs/89s/weak Ax-suited are all pure or high frequency 3bets from the BB.
So if BB lacks these hands completely BU nuts "

Bb can and should defend plenty of JTo, KJo, QKo,...so that doesn't add up

Makes sense the broadway suited's raise turn to balance range.
And continue jamming on river as well as there so few combos (3).
Tx for the additional helpful insight!

Thx to both of you for the very helpful insight as I made a terrible call and villain showed A5 for the wheel

Post | Search4answers posted in NLHE: What hands raise turn?

.02/.05 zoom

Open raise to .15 with JKo in hJ i believe it was.
Button calls.

Flop K34 two spades (we have none)
Hero bet half pot .15
Villain calls

(Pot .60)

Turn T (non spade)
Hero bets half .30
Villain raises to about $1
Hero calls

(Pot 2.60)

River 2 (non spade)
Hero checks
Villain jams about 3.21ish into about 2.60

Q1- what hands should villain be raising with on turn and why.

Q2 what hands does opponent have on river for value and bluffs and then do we call or fold
TIA
