22, 99, A2 and A9 are more likely but thx for your opinion... lol

April 6, 2020 | 4 p.m.

Opponent was pretty much an unknown yes. I think people are generally bad on NL10 but I think they become calling stations with hands like AJ or AQ here rather than committing their whole stack. Imo he has sets and 2 pairs here more often than just an ace.

Blinds: $0.05/$0.10 (6 Players) BN: $10.00
SB: $10.00
BB: $10.00
UTG: $11.25 (Hero)
MP: $17.54
CO: $15.69
Preflop ($0.15) Hero is UTG with J J
Hero raises to $0.30, 4 folds, BB calls $0.20
Flop ($0.65) 7 4 6
BB bets $0.70, Hero calls $0.70
I think I get confused a lot when I get donkbet sometimes. Here I also didn't know really what to do. I actually didn't want to play a big pot but I also want to protect my hand on a drawheavy board like this. I think giving up is never a choice but I guess raising here would give me much more information about villains hand.
Turn ($2.05) 7 4 6 Q
BB bets $1.00, Hero calls $1.00
The Q is not great to see but I put villain here on a hand that connects way better with the flop than the turn card. It is possible he hit a flush though. On this level people tend to donkbet their flushdraws a lot but I block clubs with my Jc so I could even redraw if he has a low flush.
River ($4.05) 7 4 6 Q 7
BB bets $3.00, Hero calls $3.00
Here I only beat bluffs I think. I think if I raise the flop the hand would have been played out more logically and sound for me and I wouldn't make such a bad calldown at all. Very bad play imo but I found out that in these spots I still struggle.

Blinds: $0.05/$0.10 (6 Players) BN: $10.00
SB: $23.24
BB: $13.72 (Hero)
UTG: $10.45
MP: $10.46
CO: $14.15
Preflop ($0.15) Hero is BB with 8 9
UTG raises to $0.23, MP calls $0.23, 2 folds, SB calls $0.18, Hero calls $0.13
I think calling here is fine given the odds I get with a good drawing hand.
Flop ($0.92) 2 8 A
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets $0.30, MP folds, SB folds, Hero calls $0.30
I think 2nd pair with running flushdraw is a call. Any chance I should fold here? I mean I should give him credit for an ace I guess because seldom will someone bet into so many people with just air.
Turn ($1.52) 2 8 A 9
Hero checks, UTG bets $0.87, Hero raises to $2.70, UTG calls $1.83
I think my raise is fine because his range consists of a lot of strong Ax holdings. I should have the best hand here most of the time. Opponent also was 25/8/25 but then again I only had 12 hands on him. So no real reads possible.
River ($6.92) 2 8 A 9 K
Hero checks, UTG bets $7.22 and is all in, Hero calls $7.22
I think here I was in auto pilot. If I think about this hand again I should maybe bet 1/3 pot here or check fold. I like blockbetting and folding to a raise here best. I think his shove is a strong hand most of the time. He could bluff his JT holdings too but I guess in this spot its seldom since he bet on this flop against 3 other players in the pot. 1/3 blocking bet is the best play here imo.
Final Pot BB lost and shows two pair, Nines and Eights.
UTG wins and shows two pair, Aces and Kings.
UTG wins $20.40
Rake is $0.96

April 3, 2020 | 5:59 p.m.

Blinds: $0.05/$0.10 (6 Players) BN: $11.11
SB: $12.09
BB: $12.53
UTG: $16.22 (Hero)
MP: $10.85
CO: $6.09
Preflop ($0.15) Hero is UTG with Q K
Hero raises to $0.30, 2 folds, BN calls $0.30, SB folds, BB calls $0.20
Flop ($0.95) 5 J K
BB bets $0.80, Hero calls $0.80, BN folds
weird donk bet but I have top pair with a good kicker. I think he can bet many draws here. I don't want to play a big pot here, so raising is no option I think.
Turn ($2.55) 5 J K A
BB bets $2.50, Hero folds
I think the ace only really helps his QT holdings. He could have something like Ax of spades in which case I am also drawing nearly dead. I think giving up here is correct most of the time. Opponent was an unknown with just a few stats of 25/19/0 but defenitely not enough hands to get a good read.

April 3, 2020 | 5:53 p.m.

I think given the fact that it is NL10 I think the proper line here is to just call the raise. I think on NL10 you are beat here more often than you get bluffed. Thanks for your input guys! :)

April 3, 2020 | 11:08 a.m.

Blinds: $0.05/$0.10 (6 Players) BN: $10.00
SB: $17.00
BB: $11.55
UTG: $11.22
MP: $10.10
CO: $24.80 (Hero)
Preflop ($0.15) Hero is CO with 4 A
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.25, BN folds, SB calls $0.20, BB raises to $1.25, Hero raises to $3.75, SB folds, BB folds
I think the open is fine, even if a 33/31/36 aggro plays in the blinds. An unknown player called in SB and I think since I block some Ax combos I could represent a stronger hand than I am holding. I think I will never just call here. I decide to 4bet or fold here in most of the situations, especially because I don't want to play a big multiway pot.

April 2, 2020 | 6:08 p.m.

Blinds: $0.05/$0.10 (6 Players) BN: $22.21 (Hero)
SB: $3.33

MP: $10.73
CO: $2.31
Preflop ($0.15) Hero is BN with T K
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.25, SB calls $0.20, BB calls $0.15
Open vs 2 tight blinds (15/8/0 and 9/6/0) is fine.
Flop ($0.75) 6 9 3
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks
I think I could bet the flop but with 2 overcards I can see a free turncard. I decided to check here.
Turn ($0.75) 6 9 3 7
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $0.37, SB folds, BB folds
now both players check and I sense weakness. My hand is not strong but I think I can make small pocketpairs and overcards fold. I have some outs to a straight and if a spade hits my Ks is a good blocker to represent a flush.

CO: $7.09
Preflop ($0.15) Hero is BB with K A
4 folds, SB raises to $0.30, Hero raises to $0.90, SB calls $0.60
nothing important to add. standard preflop play.
Flop ($1.80) A 2 9
SB checks, Hero bets $0.57, SB raises to $1.33, Hero raises to $3.61, SB raises to $12.02 and is all in, Hero calls $5.49 and is all in
When I got raised I should I was autopiloting too hard. After calling villain off I instantly marked the hand because I felt that I make these mistakes still too often.

If I think about the proper line I think I am not too worried about flushdraws here since I hold the ace that blocks the spade. I guess I am beat here most of the time because sets and 2 pairs are possible. Then again the board is quite dry but villains line is never a bad hand/draw here I think.

CO: $10.00
Preflop ($0.15) Hero is SB with Q Q
3 folds, BN raises to $0.25, Hero raises to $1.00, BB folds, BN calls $0.75
Flop ($2.10) 5 3 6
Hero bets $0.66, BN calls $0.66
I am not sure if the bet size is too small here.
Turn ($3.42) 5 3 6 8
Hero checks, BN bets $2.10, Hero raises to $6.10, BN raises to $8.36 and is all in, Hero calls $2.26
The 8 looks like a blank to me vs this kind of player. Only sets really beat me here. I think his range was around TT+ here but I realized that he probably wouldn't commit too much on that board. I also didn't want to give a cheap river to him because of the board that was a little bit drawheavy.

Preflop ($0.15) Hero is SB with 9 9
UTG raises to $0.30, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.25, BB raises to $1.50, UTG folds, Hero calls $1.20
Here I sometimes struggle with these kind of pairs. I think calling is ok here vs. UTG, but maybe even a raise is fine. Since I had no stats on him I just decided to flat. The isolation raise by BB makes it a fold I think. I am not really sure why I called here when I reviewed this hand. I think too many hands crush me here to go for a set here.
Flop ($3.30) Q 4 Q
Hero checks, BB bets $1.10, Hero calls $1.10
I called here because on a paired board like this my 9s could be good vs. Ax hands.
Turn ($5.50) Q 4 Q A
Hero checks, BB checks
River ($5.50) Q 4 Q A 6
Hero bets $3.22, BB folds
since we both checked the turn I thought I am never good here but I have to bet because I could also make hands like TT, JJ and KK fold. He probably would also check back AK on the turn I guess. But I thought this spot is a good bluffing spot on the river because he has to fold a lot of his other hands.

Hey! I can recommend the books and blog by Blackrain79. I started to take poker more serious when I read his books. Some years ago I climbed from NL2 up to NL25 pretty fast through the help of his guides and books. "Crushing the Microstakes" is a must read if you have problems beating NL5 imo.

I bought the FTGU course here and have to say that there is so much value for that little price. If you invest in that it will surely help your game and you can apply the things in there on NL10 and higher too.

Speaking of things to do. When I started out I posted at least 3 hands I marked in PT4.on forums every day. Discuss poker whenever you can. Back in the days I was in a skype group. Talk to better players and get into their thought processes. Get in contact with them and send them your databases or important hands. Seeing your stats can help to figure out where you make mistakes and looking through a good amount of your hands can help too to see the spots where you lose money. Join the RIO Discord Server!

Good luck!

My graph looks quite the same on NL5 at the moment. I was beating NL2 Zoom with 16bb/100 and now I lose on NL5. I think people on NL5 play way better but still make a lot of mistakes. They 3bet more, call huge amounts with just small pairs and often and call 4bets with speculative hand. This can creative huge swings in both directions. What I witnessed is that I tilt when I get sucked out or outplayed. So I think a lot has to do with bad mental game on my part. All I can say is keep trying and improving. Upswings will come and they will make you play better and more confident too!
