Blinds: $0.01/$0.02 (6 Players) UTG: $2.38
MP: $1.70
CO: $0.51 (Hero)
BN: $4.21
SB: $1.63
BB: $4.74
Preflop ($0.03) Hero is CO with 8 8
UTG folds, MP calls $0.02, Hero calls $0.02, BN folds, SB calls $0.01, BB checks
MP limped before me, I just limped behind because my hand is not at the top of my range. Maybe I should have raised?
Flop ($0.08) K 8 K
SB checks, BB checks, MP checks, Hero bets $0.04, SB folds, BB calls $0.04, MP folds
C-Bet 1/2 for value as I flopped a full house
Turn ($0.16) K 8 K T
BB checks, Hero bets $0.20, BB calls $0.20
He checks, I double barrel with an overbet. I didn't think the T was a game-changer or uncapped his range enough, and with the near nuts, it made sense to either gain more value or get him to fold.
River ($0.56) K 8 K T 7
BB bets $0.27, Hero calls $0.25 and is all in
Looking back this is the mistake, but at the same time it does not feel right to fold my hand.
Final Pot CO lost and shows a full house, Eights full of Kings.
BB wins and shows a full house, Kings full of Sevens.
BB wins $1.02
Rake is $0.04

Thanks! Seems like I was too greedy on the river, but I didn't play horrible poker.

Could have 88, AJ, and even AQ which is why I would like this hand more as a call instead of a raise. AK could raise river as it can get value from his AJ and AT.

Hmm, I thought I blocked Ax, especially on the river. How seriously should I take blockers into consideration?

Will check those episodes again! It's always a bit hard to remember everything mid-hand.

Blinds: $0.01/$0.02 (6 Players) BN: $0.67
SB: $2.00
BB: $8.51
UTG: $2.59 (Hero)
MP: $4.96
CO: $1.68
Preflop ($0.03) Hero is UTG with T A
Hero raises to $0.06, MP folds, CO calls $0.06, 3 folds
The open was slightly out of my opening range UTG (from FTGU course), but I think it still was a decent hand to open with
Flop ($0.15) A Q 8
Hero checks, CO bets $0.08, Hero calls $0.08
Turn ($0.31) A Q 8 2
Hero checks, CO bets $0.14, Hero calls $0.14
I think at this point I should have folded given the turn cut any chance of straight.
River ($0.59) A Q 8 2 A
Hero checks, CO bets $0.56, Hero raises to $1.44, CO calls $0.84 and is all in
Now I wasn't sure here. I assumed that if he had pocket Q or 8, he would have bet higher. I also forgot that if he had pocket Q or 8 that would make a full house (noob mistake) so I thought my hand was probably the nuts and he had 2 pair or simply a set. I didn't even consider pocket 2 because, although that's in his range, it didn't connect with the flop and he still C-bet.
Final Pot UTG lost and shows three of a kind, Aces.
CO wins and shows a full house, Deuces full of Aces.
CO wins $3.27
Rake is $0.12

I think I understand it! I don't get why a smaller bet size will lead to more overfolding. Am I not giving him a cheaper price to continue by betting small compared to a bigger bet?

So here donking was fine because The board was low and wet, which favours me. But I should have bet smaller (say 1/3 pot?).

I guess then when I saw he continued betting and raising I should have folded by the river, right?

Thanks for everything I think I'm getting it, will continue posting hands!

Thanks for the feedback! To be honest, I wasn't even aware of "donking" until you mentioned it. I was just leading on the flop to get value for a good hand.

The sizing I'm not sure, I remember thinking that I wanted to be polarizing so I bet high for value, but I guess I kept it steady throughout the turn/river to get value and not make him fold. So I was sizing based on my previous bet (from.08-.10.12), not on the pot. Big mistake I assume.

My doubt is how would I know he's not bluffing, especially considering I have a good hand on the river that I didn't want to fold. I haven't reached the river section of the course so that might be there, but if you have any tips!

Thanks! I see, any way to determine on the river whether he is bluffing? I'm having trouble finding where I should have folded considering I have a pretty good hand and he might be bluffing.

BN: $1.67
SB: $3.98
Preflop ($0.03) Hero is BB with 7 J
BN raises to $0.04, SB folds, Hero calls $0.02
The raise was small, so I thought it was worth the call over folding the BB (as per Peter Clarke's recommendation?)
Flop ($0.09) 6 5 8
Hero bets $0.08, BN calls $0.08
Turn ($0.25) 6 5 8 9
Hero bets $0.10, BN calls $0.10
River ($0.45) 6 5 8 9 4
Hero bets $0.12, BN raises to $0.26, Hero calls $0.14
Final Pot BN wins and shows a flush, Ace high.
BN wins $0.94
Rake is $0.03
