Great video Richard- i love the trips to solver land to clarify things. Very interesting to see that high of a follow through w Axnfd on A34K.
I was having your text box clipped off on the bottom of my full and theatre screen. not sure if it was a res thing on my endor just a tight crop. Anyone else?

Great stuff Richard, curious about bomb pot spots, maybe a video with a Sims would be great for those of us who play some single and dbl board BPs in live games. Thanks!

Awesome vid Imba, thanks man! the 4bet Monker work has my mind blown right off how we're pure flatting the super sexy DS rundowns and AKKds but going bajunky 4 betting the more gapped and less premium hands for 4b pots to have more coverage. Itmakes sense but its counterintuitive to say the least.
The PLO games I play in are ante games. Are there any ante games you play that could be made into a video for how the extra dead money affects ranges? More zoom content would be great if you can pop into the 500 pools and get constant action.

Phil,

Ive been thinking about the AT9 two tone board and how its odd we pot AAA but b1/2 TT&99. Do you think its because we unblock Axxx so hard and dont want a dead tp to find a fold if we pot? In NL i've always loved sizing up with bottom and mid sets having TP unblocked because, hey, tp isnt folding ever in NL in 3b pots but this seems like the opposite theory here.

yeah maybe a976ds? haha idk

The QJ65 thing has my mind in a knot. Wouldn't the adjustment vs a perfect opponent to 1/2 pot to be polar and get weak one pair hands to fold more if they're calling pot with bdfd but folding to 1/2? Im missing something. My mind is blown. Any further thoughts? Great video as usual Phil! Thanks

Excellent Vid format and love the simultaneous monker sims having been preran and keep in the flow of the action somewhat. Excellent play and surprised a bit that kkqjss will never call 140bb deep when its going to go 4 way very likely and you'll have second to last action post flop. Solver just hates even pretty sexy KK in 3b pots eh?

Great breakdown as always Ben! Linus knowing that JTo is that close to equilibrium blows my mind. He just knows there's all of the offsuit combos of 78, 57 etc and its enough. Obviously the flop call is losing quite a bit. Would Berri now need to start including all of his 9s in his shoving range seeing how stationy Linus is instead of just blocking with 96/a9?
Love the breakdowns of these HSNL boss hands!

Great video as usual Richard and I liked the format with your current self disagreeing with your past self- reminds me of some of PhilGalfond's videos.
I had a very hardy belly laugh @ 18:30 on the TT66 analysis "even when this guy is bluffing, and I do call. I dont always win. And that hurts me alot... on an emotional and financial level." And i agree with all of your analyses, though I really didnt like the AQ54 double float or the a623 river call but neither does current you, and its good to show hands where you make clear impulsive mistakes that shine like the turds they are in the light of logic later.
I'm curious on the kj99 call, which is super close: do you think AK88cxcx then is a slam dunk call? I cant decide how much the J hurts blocking more of the aqj, qj9s but also JJ and QQ which are the main bets for this size.

Richard,

Great stuff and I love the format with live play then leading into post session solver looks at the interesting spots. the 853r vs 843r board was VERY instructive as far as elucidating the massive EV differences all of the middling rundowns have and how much more aggro OOP gets to be on 843.

I'm also very surprised how the Monker solver seems to favor different bet sizes than what Im seeing in Vision and when I see Phil study during "Streaks" and the like. Does it make sense that different solver strategies have different preferences of B67 vs B50 on straight completing turns etc?

Thanks,
cheers

Richard,

Great video and thanks for basically breaking the seal on HU plo content for RIO. I relaly liked the juxtaposition of the HU and 6mx Monker comparison and its very interesting to compare the way the condensed ranges change the strats. Im curious why it seemed like Vision wanted b50 for the 985xdd board and Monker seemed to favor a b33 strat for IP on the flop or maybe im misremembering. Also, its wild that the solver does some gangster check raising with the akj9 no flush blockers, which just seems like a very intuitive x/c to my lowly human brain where you're going to make your life hell on so many runouts... anyways, excited for the next video.

Dec. 5, 2020 | 10:38 a.m.

Awesome video as always Phil and excited for the HU sweat in next vid. As sick nitty as that fold on J53sssKx facing 620 into 700 with 2800 effective is, you're just worried that when called, youre going to fold to a potenial and very likely 1920 pot bet on the river by a hand thats only As or nuts so youre nipping it in the bud and folding turn? Do you see yourself pure continuing if you have lets say K8s and not blocking the 2nd nuts?

Excellent content Sauce, thanks for this! Im very interested in digging and seeing an extended extrapolation of how the standard deviation could play out over deep NLHE and PLO with antes in an effort to try to quantify just how swingy the outlier bad runs and good runs can be.

Another great video Phil! I love how you try and simplify the strats as far as you can and lop off the very low incidence plays like when the solver wants to use 1/2 pot 7% of the time etc. Its very hard for my mere mortal brain to comprehend, like in the J974xhh example, that the solver will call random hands like T985 over T8 with a heart blocker bc in practice im just not calling the T98 with enough of a plan to lead on all 9 rivers etc but clearly im lighting some money on fire. And also, I understand that its trying to teach us to fire with a more heavily weighted freq with the 3 of a suit of the bdfd that missed because it blocks some of their continues even when it doesnt come in but once again in practice i just dont implement this into my game because my opponents are already so unbalanced and light years from perfect. Very mind expanding to think about though and i'll start adding weight to barreling when this comes up in game. Side note, do you use an RNG while you play HU to help randomize your close spots? Thanks again and please try and implement some practice mode next time after you review a concept to see how it shakes out pragmatically.

Nicely done m8! So youre folding 88to an open of 2.5 toanutg orLj from directly behind?

April 10, 2020 | 11:02 a.m.

Nice work rich and I think your explanations are very clearly explained. You should’ve check raised the fish on T9xx9 and the guy behind you snap folds top pair. How prevalent do you think collusion in on Ignition¿

Feb. 14, 2020 | 4:40 p.m.

Yeah that JJ fold is way too tight. It’s closer to a 4b than it is a fold. 70 is way too peelable here IP.

Jan. 27, 2020 | 12:18 p.m.

ehhh? hes likely shipping hands on the flop that are boats so I agree with you.. the hands that were dead against ie AA+nfd and Ts with atleast a gutter and FD, are likely shipping flop too so we re getting the right price against Txxx with 2300 for 9100. its a close spot but I think its a call. we might have the best hand v QJ9 or random QJcx that now blocks so much Tx that it just stop and gos.

Jan. 23, 2020 | 12:18 a.m.

I think the 8 is maybe th best kicker as it unblocks JT QT QJs that may be emptying the clip.

Jan. 12, 2020 | 3:12 a.m.

Hey Sauce, great video. I notice that you don’t modulate your raise sizes pre from utg to btn. I see LLinus, BBB, bit2ez, and OtB all go from 213/220 to around 240 to 250. Clearly pio must corroborate this. Is it to de incentivize the 3b or just play .6ish bb pots more often from th btn? Also I see you fold q9/j9o from the cut off in unopened pots and t4s from th btn. What are your min opening thresholds here? Thanks bud!

Hey Phil, great video! I like this topic a lot and how you start with the oop 3b spot first. Great check w 99👌🏽
I’m curious if you’re if there’s any 6max/hu plo content producers in the pipeline as I’ve been disappointed with content that I’ve watched in these realms.
Also, the defending against the third pot Cbets on paired and flush boards would be super interesting content!
Cheers 🥂

Very cool and well thought out! I like the part about how to take adv of the asymmetrical trips on 775 where the ip in 6 max and esp fr just doesn’t have the 7x other than A7/maybeK7s when opening ep/mp. Would like to see a solver game tree laid out with how leading leads us to make more mistakes and how to combat leads. Thanks!

nice work Sauce! reallly mind blowing how 11% of IPs range is AA and Im having trouble wrapping my brain around how its almost same freq to shove AA with a club and without. very strange that AAxx wants to turn itself into a bluff. also, if regs are calling 84o otr, why is just KK a vaue shove for NL? very interesting.
on a side note: Id give my left nut to see a four handed NL game with you, Linus, OTB, and Jungle

Comment | Tarpon85 commented on 25/50/100 Live FR PLO

yeah I thought that our blockers were bad because the majority of the hands we beat otr are the AKQXhxhx type of hands that now feel like my hand is most likely overpair+diamonds or pair+wrap. That being said, our blockers are terrible, we unblock hearts, and we block QQ but are we folding all 89s? if hes not betting his 89s, which i dont think he would or should, should we call all Jxs and fold this with shitty blockers like we have? I thought it was close and called, and did not pass go.

Post | Tarpon85 posted in PLO: 25/50/100 Live FR PLO

We play a 25/50/100 hosted private PLO game every week and the game is a mixture of one very smart thinking Tag, 3 whales, 4 NL nits who sort of know what to do with four cards, and me.

Game is off the hook and the whales are hammered and we’re all drinking shots like it’s 1/28/1919 and the 18th Ammendment is about to pass tomorrow. Hammered Tag (60k) opens btn to 400, whale (50k) on my right with SB calls. I (50k) look down at QQ98scsc and squeeze to 1700. Btn calls, whale folds 🤯.

Flop: J ♦️ T ❤️ 6 ♦️

I check. Tag bets 3300. I call.

Turn: J ♥️

I check, Tag checks quickly.

River: 7 ♥️

I check. Tag bets 7k. I???

Thoughts on pre, flop, and river much appreciated. I want to withhold the results to prevent confirmation bias til some crusher way in... Thanks RIO Fam.

Phil,

Great video and thank you for the artfully crafted insight into 250+bb PLO as there's very little content at all concerning this format.  Small question: at 12:40 you open fold 8776ss utg, but in the cutoff 4handed, and in an ante game I'm always opening this, maybe even in the hijack with nits and flat players on the cut off and btn.  Am I over valuing this hands connectedness and the mid pair this deep or was your fold a function of opening other tables coupled with the psychological tightness associated with being utg?  Mid and bottom set does suck a lot this deep...

Also, could you please shed light on why you and the other superstars like Oddsen open to 2.27-2.5 on the btn without an aggro 3btr in the blinds? I'm still in 2.5-3xland nursing the idea that I want my opponent to make larger errors while OOP and an avg larger pot IP cant be bad, but clearly I have to fold to 3bets more and play shallower in 3bet pots. As always thank you, and keep up the wonderful content man.
