Thanks for the response really appreciate it! Above would make more sense if Villan was 40bbs+ or so
You're kinda treating it like a cash game spot imo. With 44 we should rarely flat vs this stack size as we don't have the right odds to set mine and it plays poorly post like you said. A8s is obv a lot better post but vs a 27bb opening range how does it play?

I guess what i'm trying to say is you would end up playing this ("What happens if we only play hands that make bluff catcher type things? Well then villain pounds away over 3 streets with a lot of overbets and we can't stack off often enough.") strategy the fast majority of the time off this effective stack size.
Just seems rather exploitable to me.

Cheers

Great vid! Sick heater btw!
27min A8cc, why not 3b/f pre instead of flat? I feel like we can handcuff his stacksize here forcing him to fold or shove. When we go post flop, it seems we are looking for two pair/FD or better. Otherwise we just pot control/play the guessing game on alot of boards as we can't barrel as comfortably for value/ we aren't even that deep to begin?

Cheers!

Hey D, great vid as usual!
With the AJhh hand, why not 3b/call to induce here? Seems like worse cannot 4b jam on us/we only get called by better.
I could see it being a much better spot for a jam if ICM was a factor. Just wondering if we are losing too much value here?

Cheers

Hey Great Vid,
@ 19.20ish for the turn lead range. Do you find it strange that TT is pretty much the only hand it likes to bet, when TT actually blocks Villans Semi-bluffs. i.e combos of J10?

GL Bro, all the best!

Nice Vid,
Around the 14 min mark when you flop the nuts with 64. Are you raising in lehout's spot with A8 on the river? I feel like you could be betting much wider for value in this spot given your dynamic.

Best format of video ever made. Rio elite invitational mtt serires please, or at least something deeper stacked with more complex ft bubble, bubble and icm analysis.

Why not set mine 22 from the SB @ 2:00? Doesn't his stronger opening range mean we're more likely to stack him when we flop our set?

June 19, 2015 | 6:28 p.m.

I.e. We can have 67 (prolly just suited) & maybe only 3/4 combos as a freq & then all the sets.

June 19, 2015 | 5:31 p.m.

Are we deep enough to just x/r flop with the intention of GII or barreling all turns rivers as we would do with all of our value range?

June 19, 2015 | 5:29 p.m.

Would 3 to 5b cram on setherson if he 3bets us @ 24:00 be an ok play or we need more like 77s with 66s being boarderline?

20bb jams at FTs seem to be becoming more prominent with surprisingly wide ranges. What's the concept/math behind the disparity between jamming for 15bb or 20bb.

For arguments sake let's say we are the effective stack @ 21bb.

Hey Akira.

Great videos. You talk very succinctly & informatively, keep it up.

One thing I would say (ask) is that it would be great when you talk about a hand if you went into a little about what the whole range should be.

This applies to lot's of video makers in fact. People say "A6s is not a good hand to jam here... I'd rather pass." (@ 26:00) but I always feel what's missing is then the answer - What IS the range you would take X, Y or Z action with. Simply knowing ONE hand NOT to do something with is quite a limited way of learning IMO. Thinking about the entire range of hands we SHOULD take the aforementioned actions with is key I believe.

Regards,

Just OOI, if 20k is a big swing, what are you hoping/expecting your yearly profit to be over how many mtts?

You're thinking is that TT doesn't win here enough at showdown in order to check it down?

May 29, 2015 | 12:31 a.m.

Hi Sam.

With regards to TT being the next hand up from the bottom of our range to turn into a bluff, what better hands in our opponent's range are we trying to fold out? Just AQ & AA?

altho once the 3 hits on turn you do want to bet to protect against the wheel draw..i guess it depends on how his jam feels on the turn, what does he think of you etc ..

May 28, 2015 | 4:37 p.m.

check back turn, call river unless 5 hits - he has alot of Ax hands he will fold on turn but then semi bluff on river (when he misses) when you check back turn. so you can under-rep top pair on earlier streets and then bluff catch rivers while not getting owned vs better Qx or random sets

May 28, 2015 | 4:33 p.m.

tiny river bet, can see him having AK, AJ, KQ...does he 3b AT here? if so would he barrel it 3 streets here or chk at some point? how often have you been opening ? looks like JJ, missed overs or an AT, KT

May 28, 2015 | 4:07 p.m.

not a bad idea on the flop to raise the K high board, but not a good turn card to try it again. a heart or an Ace on the turn is better here. you picked up more outs on the turn and if you think he 'll fold when the 3rd heart comes, maybe its not a bad turn raise to set up a big river bluff when the heart hits, or to build the pot for when you make straight. by the river, just fold. he has alot of Kx hands he's calling out of the BB

May 28, 2015 | 3:29 p.m.

yep, fold for the reasons above
