I used to regularly play a couple of casinos near me that started playing 2/5/10 and 2/5/R, action starts behind the rock. They quit offering 2/5 games. Gradually, they ended up only running these games on weekends. You are smart to ask because this is not a 2/5 game. The target you are looking for is the casual player who likes a better game than 1/2. This player would play 2/5 anywhere in the country. This same guy would not play 5/10. This game is more complex than 5/10, because the SB is still putting in 2 and the opening action starts him out of position. So, his A-rag hand he loves from the button is complicated to play. So, at the casinos near me, it's just a table full of the same guys. They love it because they have the advantage of regularly playing it, but they cut off their food chain.

I would first look at it as a 5/10 game. Then I would judge the talent and see where I fit. Will my strategy work in this game. Am I comfortable playing the larger amounts so I can play my A-game. Study your position and the three players to your left. Pay attention to the player in your right.

I just started following this series. I love the long explanations that give multiple scenarios. I am learning through his thought process. The ones with 6 tables have me all over the place. Also, he's using his HUD and it helps me to understand how to use mine in decision making.

I have started to watch the Essential videos. Just some of the tips have helped me to start getting to the money, online low stakes. I start out, top 10-15, then nit it up to the money. My game changes and I take less risks. I want to open up, but I just don't like the spots.
I watch the spots I take until I am forced to take risks because my stack only has10-12bb. Then I dwindle out of the tournament.
The last tournament, I tried to keep the hammer down. The blinds grew and the competition gets stronger. My bluffs start getting called.
Update. My question fit here better. I watched this vid. I like the thought process you describe. I started with this one, but plan to watch them all. My last tournament I was @65K leader when the average chip stack was about 14K. I hung well, stayed in top 10 and tried to make something happen. I got caught, lost 40% of my stack and was gone in less than an orbit. 20th place.

I have a feel for 6max online betting patterns and picking pre flop bluffs/raises/3bets. But when I play live, I play a little tighter. I think I miss spots. Any thoughts?
