BN: $1.11
SB: $2.00
Preflop ($0.03) Hero is BB with 9 Q
CO raises to $0.06, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.04
Think this is a pretty standard call CO vs BB
Flop ($0.13) Q 7 K
Hero checks, CO checks
Turn ($0.13) Q 7 K 8
Hero bets $0.10, CO raises to $0.30, Hero calls $0.20
Is calling the best option here or should I be raising? Whilst playing the hand my thinking was to call to keep in his bluffs but in retrospect what bluffs could he realistically have?
River ($0.73) Q 7 K 8 4
Hero checks, CO bets $0.56, Hero calls $0.56
Is calling really nitty? We're still fairly deep and raise folding just sucks so much. Or should I just be happy to get it in?
Final Pot BB wins and shows a flush, King high.
CO lost and shows three of a kind, Eights.
BB wins $1.79
Rake is $0.06

SB: $2.00
BB: $1.18
Preflop ($0.03) Hero is BN with Q 6

Seems fine to me
Flop ($0.12) Q 3 K
SB checks, Hero checks
Again seems fine
Turn ($0.12) Q 3 K T
SB bets $0.32, Hero calls $0.32
Turn seems a bit questionable but figure i'm high enough in my range to call. I have QT, KT and TT in my range but mid pair plus flush draw seems like an ok call.
River ($0.76) Q 3 K T K
SB bets $1.63 and is all in, Hero calls $1.63
When the K pairs my thinking is it's less likely he has a K due to removal and a bunch of draws that he may have been bluffing the turn with missed.

I think you're right about villain having no bluffs and therefore this should be a fold. In terms of my range, I can't think of any flush or straight hands that I 4 bet in position with then check this dry flop. Or should I be checking my whole range here to avoid having too many bluffs compared to value hands?

By betting small I'm trying to keep his range wide and keep my range uncapped. I think a small bet can make him fold a lot of his equity on the flop.

I think most people would c/c this flop right? Do you think betting small is a good option? It keeps villain's range wide and allows me to bluff them off middle strength hands later in the hand.
Turn ($0.23) J 5 T 4
Hero bets $0.06, BN calls $0.06
Bet small again for the same reasons as above but in hindsight villain is capped so an overbet might have been better with my gutshot to the nuts and overcards. Thoughts?
River ($0.35) J 5 T 4 K
Hero checks, BN bets $0.17, Hero raises to $0.34, BN calls $0.17
I check-raised with the intention of folding to a 3 bet. Is this line standard?

Bad hand to 3 bet vs MP. No need for comments.
Flop ($0.39) 4 2 K
MP checks, Hero bets $0.10, MP calls $0.10
Very dry flop that I should be c betting often. Therefore I believe a small sizing is correct.
Turn ($0.59) 4 2 K 3
MP checks, Hero
Villain's range is capped after calling the preflop 3 bet and calling the small c-bet. Is this a good spot to polarize my range and overbet like $0.90?

July 19, 2017 | 10:29 p.m.

Thanks Terry, the reason why I would call QTs and not 88 is there are lots more flops that I can continue with whether for value or as bluffs. Interested whether you would agree with this or is my thinking flawed?

July 19, 2017 | 10:19 p.m.

Yeh I would fold them pre to a 3bet. Is this not advised? What's a good calling %/range for button vs SB 3bet?

We're fairly deep so I figure this is an ok call. Let me know if i'm wrong
Flop ($0.42) 5 8 K
SB bets $0.21, Hero calls $0.21
Fairly standard call think. I think this hits villains range harder as I don't have AK,KK,55 or 88 in my range.
Turn ($0.84) 5 8 K A
SB checks, Hero bets $0.70, SB calls $0.70
I pick up some more equity so think this is a good spot to semi-bluff and try and push villain off QQ-TT, Kx. As villain caps his range I believe I should bet big and polarize my range. Am I right in thinking this?
River ($2.24) 5 8 K A 5
SB checks, Hero bets $1.79 and is all in, SB calls $1.79
Is this a good spot to bluff on the river? What is my perceived range in this spot? What is villain's range?

Excited to join the RIO community. I am a 2nl player that is looking to start progressing up the stakes in the most efficient manner. I have an essential membership and have gone through all the learning path videos but am slightly lost as to how I should proceed now to get the most out of RIO. I would like to follow a clear linear progression from the basics up rather than just watching random videos. Do you suggest I choose a pro, watch all their videos in order then move on to the next. Or watch all the videos from the most popular downwards? If anyone has progressed out of the micros using RIO videos then your advice on the best way to do it would be greatly appreciated.

Is this too thin to value bet? Should I be check calling instead? And if we check, to what size bet are we check folding? As played is this a fold?

Suited A in an unopened pot. I believe this is a standard open from MP considering effective stacks. Plan to fold to any 3bet larger than 6bb.
Flop ($0.19) A 5 6
BB checks, Hero checks, CO checks
Dry flop so i'm not worried about protection. I try to c-bet a polarized range so I think this is a good spot to check my weak TP and strengthen my turn range in spots where I check flop. Also my hand isn't strong enough to go three streets.
Turn ($0.19) A 5 6 A
BB checks, Hero bets $0.10, CO folds, BB calls $0.10
After it checks through and BB checks again I think i've usually got the best hand and now want start getting value from all spade draws, TT-77, 44-22, 5x, 6x, 78,89,34,23. Is my bet sizing ok in this spot? Would appreciate advice on optimal size in this spot.
River ($0.39) A 5 6 A T
BB checks, Hero bets $0.14, BB raises to $0.66, Hero
All draws brick and after BB checks again I believe i'm still good. TT gets there but not certain it's in villain's range as they would likely squeeze preflop. I choose a small sizing but don't have great reasons for that so once again advice is appreciated. With the way villain played the hand I think the c/r is a response to my small bet sizing and could be a bluff. Is this a call or fold?

OP please can you explain your thought process behind checking the flop rather than betting say 1/3 pot for protection. Not questioning it, just a relative beginner wanting to understand why you did it. Thanks
