Have a great time in Eastern Europe mate. Looking forward to the trip report!

June 2, 2023 | 9:59 p.m.

Another great post mate. I'm enjoying getting back into meditation myself. I'm doing it every morning in my darkened office while my freshly brewed coffee cools down. Routines!

May 23, 2023 | 10:49 a.m.

At 11:30 you limp/folded A8hh UTG

Are EP limps something you see a lot of midstakes regs implementing in their game? And is this something you do regularly now or was it purely an exploit given the unique table line-up?

April 15, 2023 | 3:57 p.m.

Glad to see you're back posting. I've overheard regs in the Nagaworld card room out here in Cambodia talking about you amongst themselves. Keep on doing your thing dude

17:10 - Why do you have such a tiny amount of JTs in your sb range on the pio sim? JTs not pure 3bet/call 4bet in sb vs bu?

Jan. 5, 2023 | 4:26 p.m.

16:50 - Great point with KJo. upon first glance, with two recs behind it would've seemed a line up where you should be widening your opening range, but I like your reasoning for folding. In that particular spot, would you be opening low pocket pairs at a much higher frequency given that they play much better in squeezed pots with recs?

Jan. 4, 2023 | 11:22 a.m.

3:40 Are you sure Q9s is a defend vs a 4bet bu vs sb? Most of the charts I've seen have J9 and Q9 folding and K9/A9 mixing call and fold

6:20 you squeezed 98s despite a roll of 37? Surely it's only a low frequency play especially because when you're deeper these hands go down in value?

47:00 with A9o when he calls turn is your plan to give up on non diamond rivers?

49:30 Are you always defending 77 co vs sb 3bet?

I live in Glasgow as well (although I am going away in early December for a while)

Here's my advice for moving here:

  1. Live near the tube. I live in the east end where there's no tube. Buses are not reliable and you'll end up paying for so many Ubers into town or the west end. Cessnock and Ibrox are pretty decent areas for cafes and restaurants and obviously convenient if you're a Rangers fan.

  2. Splash out on a nice place to live. Rent for higher end accommodation is cheaper here than in most other western countries biggest city. As much as I appreciate the working class vibes of the city, I regret not moving into a place more insulated from shoddy neighbors. If you can rent in a complex that has a communal gym then that's a huge bonus, because I've found the Glasgow weather can sometimes be a deterrent to head out to the gym.

  3. DO NOT go play in these Glasgow live games. They are reg fested and rake is so high. No money to be made there. Stick to playing online only.

Do you listen to music while grinding poker? I always found I play way less focused and make more sloppy errors whenever I have music playing.

Such sick commentary at 26:00 haha!

March 2, 2019 | 8:54 p.m.

@24:00 Are you sure it's not best to overcall the minraise with QJo in the SB, especially when there is another weaker player in the BB?

Dec. 16, 2017 | 5:19 p.m.

Great video, Mark!

@20:00 You seem unfazed by the 150% pot bet on the turn with K8hh. As most regs will not value bet a set on any heart or Jack river, are you sure your implied odds are strong enough to make the peel profitable?

Dec. 7, 2017 | 2:12 p.m.

Jesus Christ mate, do you actually use that table theme to grind?

May 29, 2017 | 6:14 p.m.

Hey teunuss, great video.

Could you link me to where I could download the RNG you are using?

May 12, 2017 | 1:50 a.m.

Hey Sam, great video!

@ 41:40 Is 9To a standard jam with 5bbs in SB vs a btn open? And where would the line be drawn there? 78o?

April 8, 2017 | 4:04 a.m.

Hey Tyler,

Do you think K6s is a good hand to defend in the small blind vs a big blind 3bet? From my experiences I would definitely assume 4betting or folding are the better plays.

Jan. 20, 2017 | 1:54 p.m.

At 18:50 are you always folding J9o in the bb vs a 3x btn open?

Jan. 13, 2017 | 7:31 p.m.

@ 19:55 on table 1 there was a limper in mp and you didn't isolate him with KTo. Was that a misclick or do you not think KTo is good enough to iso in that spot?

Nov. 15, 2016 | 9:24 a.m.

@4:20 are you always folding J7o in bb vs a btn 2.7x open?

Nov. 6, 2016 | 3 p.m.

at 18 minutes, is it standard for you to fold K4o in bb vs just a 2.25x open from sb?

Sept. 6, 2016 | 4:40 p.m.

Also at 31 mins I don't like calling 74s vs 3x utg. Think it's very marginal at best

Aug. 23, 2016 | 4:18 a.m.

Betting the turn on the AQ hand at 23 minutes is horrible imo. Just take your equity, and if he just has a Jx hand he may fold on a blank river to a bet as you'd rep QQ+ well.

Aug. 23, 2016 | 3:22 a.m.

So pleased to see you've done so well this year. Huge amount of respect deserved to those that are willing to battle with regs at mid-high stakes.

May 3, 2016 | 4:20 a.m.

Yea, think I really do agree with this actually. Don't think the shortie will have flatted KK or AA because he is very, very agro but sb will have an extremely tight range. AK/QQ+ 100% and with QQ he might even just flat pre.

At 39:00 you open folded K4o in the small blind. Do you think K4o is standard fold vs most regs? I assume you would open K4s and K8o?

I had never played with villain before this session, his HUD stats at that point iirc were 22/12 with a 6% 3bet over a ~60 hand sample. I can only assume he views me as a standard 17/13 reg. No history whatsoever.
Preflop ($1.50) (7 Players)
hurtNCYDE was dealt K A
exobandit folds, blukblukbluk calls $1, butcheN18 folds, pokeramafia2 folds, hurtNCYDE raises to $4, 3 Pump Chump folds, zetita folds, blukblukbluk raises to $11, hurtNCYDE calls $7
I isolated his limp assuming he was just a fish/semi fish. However after the iso I searched for him and saw that he was playing 12 tables so I immediately regretted what I had just done as even before it folded back to him I knew what was coming. Even though it's very common for regs who apply the limp/raise strategy to have KK+ in this spot I feel that my hand is too strong to fold.
Flop ($24.50) 9 K 9 (2 Players)
blukblukbluk bets $13, hurtNCYDE calls $13
No much to say here. I think calling is the only option.
Turn ($50.50) 9 K 9 4 (2 Players)
blukblukbluk checks, hurtNCYDE checks
I think that's quite a bad card actually. I've watched a lot of Sharknebulah's vids and he insists limping small pps is a good way to balance limping monsters. And I'm sure he could limp raise with small pps as a bluff occasionally. Would of much rather the turn be like an 8 or a 10 or maybe even a King. Checked it back for pot control and I also think my hand is face up as AK as I would have folded the flop with TT-QQ and folded pre with all smaller pps probably.
River ($50.50) 9 K 9 4 2 (2 Players)
blukblukbluk bets $55, hurtNCYDE folds
If he would have bet half pot I probably would have sigh called. When he makes a slight overbet I am hating life and make a nit laydown.
Final Pot
blukblukbluk wins $47.27

Making a FR video once in a while would be nice. There's definitely a lack of midstakes FR content.
