JJ beginning at 40:12 I was surprised you so easily gave up ... do we not have enough equity with our FD (one for the royal!), SD and two outs for the FH to continue ott? I think if he had an A or a K would he have 3b pre?

^^^ THANK YOU @GTO Warrior and fishcheckmate!

I think I need to introduce myself... as I am not new to poker - I am "nonsimplesimon" on 2p2 and jsimon101 on BCP and come from a self taught (never coached) exploiting/depends on hud/old school style of poker and GTO/anonymous games kinda scare me but I am fascinated and inspired by Tariq's success there. I have a lot of learning to do. To begin with as a formality I am tearing apart the FTGU just as an old dog learning new tricks refreshing myself before I jump into the games and start submitting hand histories and all...

I understand the puzzle (no FE/Calling range = linear / FE + calling range = polar / kinda FE + calling range = mixed).

As a beginner - the reason I asked about where these ranges fit is I see GTO and the anonymous games as kind of black and white game and I traditionally don't see things that way having grown up playing exploitive style (poker is a life of "it depends!"). If I put the ranges into a GTO program - such as GTO WIZ - I can see that HJ vs UTG is clearly linear (and CO is calling very sparingly/rarely) - and as you mentioned SB vs BU. As you mentioned the ranges in most positions aren't generally polar either in the high rake situations... But if I have a crazy reg opening utg and I am in the HJ and there are fish otb and in the blinds - I want to call there! But how am I going to know that in anonymous games? That's all.

I am preparing ranges for myself before I enter the anonymous games on Ignition. I know everyone says "no charts" - even Peter said that - but Peter also said that it's important to not get trapped in the 60/40 70/30 GTO percentage conundrum game either ... so my brain can easily put these ranges together in my head if I understand where the mixed/polar/linear fits into which position since the opponents - for the most part - are going to be anonymous. I hope that makes sense?

Thank you everybody for helping me and replying here. peace out!

hello - I am digesting the 3b videos that Peter Clarke put out on 3b. I have this observation and want to know if I am correct:

LINEAR
used in this situation:
HJ VS UTG
CO VS UTG
SB VS BU

POLAR
used in this situation
BU and CO versus UTG/HJ/CO opens

MIXED
used in this situation
BB VS BU
BB VS SB (BVB)

does this sound right?

one other thing ...

:hat's your observation on using these concepts in anonymous games such as those on ignition or playing zoom/zone on a phone (without a HUD)?

thanks

You can five table blitz? Thought the maximum was 4. Why not play on ignition? Acr seems reg infested.

What time of day was this played ? Is there a disadvantage to playing at this time because the tables are more reg infested?

I think i like a raise ott or even the flop. We smash the board with 2p ... as played when we donk river its an assumption hes checking back but there needs to be a plan of folding or calling when he raises. I think we need to bet fold here.
