+1. Agreed with everything midori said. Preflop probably dont raise oop too. Your hand doesnt really push much equity edge. It's a home game and they probably dont fold anything as well. Sit back wait for nuts and print them.

Comment | lanceryosuke commented on standard hand??

Don't quite understand the big cbet otf. 3waypot i dont think we get enough folds and as you said btn is on tilt, probably wouldnt cbet this liberally oop. Turn, the above members did the math for you. After bombing the turn you just have to hope for the best

Probably gii turn. Not much 33 and 66 given his utg raising range. Looks more like a draw that also picked up equity and u dominate that. Given board is relatively dry, i expect medicore players to slowplay more often with their strong hands like sets and lead higher equity draws otf. Our queen blocker is massive here as well.

Not a spot a live reg will bluff often enough where your range could be too strong to fold. They are just gonna show up with the QT more often than draws. Just dont see they going to bloat the pot oop with gutter fds type hands being deep when they have two more streets to play.

My Ten blocker is relevant here i think. I have no reads on opponent and not sure if he's going be value betting merged with AAa. For the most part i think he can still do this with his range where the Ace strengthen his overall range a lot .With That said his 3 betting range that possible would have double suited low run downs that pretty much fits very well as bluffs here. His timing was pretty fast as well not sure what to make out of it. Flip a coin and call/fold here??

Feb. 22, 2016 | 8:46 a.m.

Don't fold unless you have sample he raises small with monsters on flops

Feb. 21, 2016 | 11:56 a.m.

I have no reads except that sb was 3 betting a few times and folding to 4 bets. Pretty weird to see him having a calling range there.

Feb. 21, 2016 | 11:54 a.m.

Live nlhe blinds 25/50.

I raise btn $125 JQdd, sb calls and bb calls.
Flop is Kd 3d Tc, Checks to me,i bet $300 only sb calls/
Turn is Ah, checks to me i bet $800 sb calls.
River Ad. Sb checks.

Now otr our betting is super strong here. Haivng J and Q of diamonds made me felt that he has so little diamonds that could call the turn with. I'm also not sure if sb would flat 33 or AT type hands (LOL @ live poker).
Can we ever get call by worst here?

Post | lanceryosuke posted in NLHE: Live NLHE OTR spot 2

Felt like i'm getting overrun by bunch of strong regs this session. Had another spot vs very strong reg again btn vs bb.
i Had QJ spades and i opened to $125 bb 3 bets to $500 i call. $9000 effective stacks.

Flop is Ad Kh Qd, he bets $600 i call.
Turn is Qh he bets $2000 i call
River is 3c he bets $6000 and i'm puking all over the table.

This has to be the bottom of our range right? We have AQ/KQ and straights where we basically need to call alot here. Easy fold? What kind of bluffs can villain show up with? Thoughts pls

Post | lanceryosuke posted in NLHE: Live NLHE OTR spot

Hello guys, had a spot in 25/50 NLHE live vs an experienced pro. Not too sure if my river call was good.

Blinds 25/50 i started the hand with $4400 and i raised on the button to $125 with 7s 7h. BB had me covered call.

Flop is 6c 6s 4c, pot is $275, bb checks i bet $140 and he xr to $500 i call.
Turn 3s,he bets $860 i call.
River 3d he puts me all in pot is $2995 and i basically have to call a pot size bet.

I think my range has 6x alot and if i were to pick overpairs to call,77 and QQ might be one of the better hands to call with. 88-JJ should fold alot i think? I'm also not sure AA/KK non club what would we do here? Am i over valuing 77 for blocking effects here considering we block alot of 76o combos.

Feb. 20, 2016 | 11:34 p.m.

I think his name is jimmy, not super sure. I saw him hanging out with other splashing guys that's why i called lol. He was sitting to my left and i would be awkward for me to turn around and stare at him. Other regs felt he was very confident and strong there.

Jan. 19, 2016 | 10:08 p.m.

Hi guys! Had spot in live poker that i'll like to share.

Blinds 30/60 live 8 handed

I open mp3 $150 with A5hh and HJ calls (unknown french guy that plays weird, not much sample vs him).
Hu pot flop is 55J rainbow. i cbet $220 he calls.
Turn is 7 h and i have hearts covered for the flush draw OTT. i bet $520 he calls.
River is a Ks i bet $13500 and he makes it $4500.

JK probably is the best bluff catcher we have here but is A5 too strong to fold? Without reads we basically fold non nuts here?
thoughts pls

$2/$4 blinds,
hero has KcQc
hero in bb, villain in sb. eff stacks $400
villain raises $12, hero 3bets to $40, villain --> $100, hero calls.

FLOP:
Td3d5c
villain bets $40 into $200, hero calls.

TURN:
5d
check check

RIVER:
Kd

villain shoves for pot. Hero????

Reads: villain has some 4b bluffs pre, can be overly aggro on scare cards.

I folded in game but I think this might be a closer spot than I thought.

My analysis:

On the turn, villain would be barrelling AdTx, Ad9x, QdJx etc hands QdTx as his 4bet bluff pre hands had he picked up fd with shallow spr.
He's just calling suited Ax diamonds pre probably so a turned flush is not super likely.

his value shoves for pot is probably Ad, maybe Qd? so how many Ad Qd hands actually check turn. not that many. QdTx? or AdTx? KKK? KKK for a boat of course, but I block that. I think AdA and QdQ(I am also blocking one Q) is going to bet bet bet most probably.

HENCE, on hindsight I shld have been better off calling?

THOUGHTS please guys! THANKS and feel free to share any of your thoughts!!! :D

Never really know what these punters are going to appear with in these spots. We have to depend on bb folding to our cbet and not sure if we could count on the btn to fold turns even if we decide to barrel twice. If they are punting
15bb preflop vs your perceived strong range, they might be too loose to fold anyThing here. Laying artificial odds to pray at both we and they are at their bottom of their range vs two guys seems really ambitious. Nit up and print them with our real hands ,Check fold this one and take a cigarette break seems like the Gto move here :)

Hello folks, had a spot today at live NLHE today where i think its interesting to evaluate my play. Loose fish opens utg with a wide range and seldom folds/4bet opens for $40. I have 89 spades i make it $150 with $1800 stack effective for us. Btn is a bad reg cold calls btn and fish folds.

Flop is J s 2s jh, i cbet$185 he calls.
Turn is Qs, i bet$440 he calls.
River 3 c

I'm in spot where there are not many hands i'm behind (4combos of boats and quads + 1 AK and maybe ATs?) but i'm also not sure if shoving here is he ever going to call with worst. Opponent is fairly station as well and very capable of making super light calls. What's our line here? shove? cc/cf?

Bet fold River ? We do have enough equity vs his calling range but not vs a raising range

Feb. 20, 2015 | 6:29 a.m.

i think It depends if he has tedencies to turn hands into bluffs like 98 /T8 which are reasonable calls and how willingly he is to fight for pots otr. My assumption here is that most players wont be perfectly balanced here so its a spot you would need to have a read from preflop if you think he has more Kx combos that could play this way.You mentioned as well he is a multitable reg so he should have his own default rules to be as "gto" as possible. I think after betting vs a reg like this,we would have to call half of the time or else betting wouldn't have make sense. As played,i would have check behind because we block 9x and the lower parts of his range of 9x(98/97) could bluff sometimes. He shouldnt be calling with much 6x here as well.
Looking forward to hear what you think =)

We block most of the bluffs opponents could have and he does not need a set to call any amount we are barreling. He bet into 3 ways and should know he can get check raise a decent amount. Don't see any value hands / bluff catchers folding enough on the turn so over betting having no outs to improve seems pretty spewy.

Feb. 8, 2015 | 9:07 p.m.

Comment | lanceryosuke commented on nl200z 77 3b pot

Not sure if its too loose to 3 bet vs a 3x raise OTB, Flop is ok but i expect him to have some floats with two over cards having a good price esp with the bd fd. I'll check call turn although we have one of the worst bluff catchers but i don't really see much 8x in his range as well. River call and fold sometimes on bricks i think.

Feb. 8, 2015 | 9 p.m.

Flop is ok ish since we block some Aq hands and we have decent outs vs middlish pairs. On the turn I'm abit confused about ur small sizing and I prefer to bet bigger to get more folds from one pair and flush draws. Your sizing doesn't really look like you have a strong hand that want to go for value and protection. We could get raised by A high flush draws together with some bluffs here if he sees weakness.

Feb. 8, 2015 | 8:50 p.m.

Not too sure if we can ever bluff with this sizing and because we have position, opponents should know this and won't always spew raise a small sizing often with bluffs. So when he raises,he has flush or nothing and when we jam how often are we expecting him to fold a k high flush here?

Feb. 8, 2015 | 8:34 p.m.

He has position with a reasonable strong range and on wet boards he gets to realise more equity than us which i think its inevitable. We probably want to check call KQ,AQ/AA with the high spade blocker, under pairs like TT JJ and some draws like non nut flush draws(TJ,KJspades), bet with KK/AA/AQ non spades, sets and stronger draws like nfd/fd +gutter. On turns, i think we have enough strong hands in our checking/betting range as well so i don't think we can be heavily exploited on most run outs.
