In this Video, Phil explains why we must look at EV more like a pot share.
Can someone please explain, i am having trouble understanding this. I understand how is EV is calculated, but since poker is a zero sum game, the EV calculation is a measure of how much on average we will gain from our opponent on any given play. I dont understand how this relates to the pot size. Example: In the video i referenced on 12:36 Phil makes the calc, on the hand with a play with $315 EV (12% of the pot) and compares it to our equity in the pot (43%), does this mean that we can have a play with EV = 3.58 times more EV than this one i.e. = $1127.7 we take on avarage from our opponent?
