Akira "Clutch Hero" Ohyama was first introduced to poker while attending the College of William and Mary in the US. He had a natural aptitude for the game and his passion led to early success. Graduation from college and Black Friday seemed to coincide nicely for Akira and he moved back to Japan to pursue poker full time. He has piled up $1.2 million in cashes in just three years.
Poker has not been adopted into mainstream culture in Japan like is has in the United States and Akira considers himself to be an ambassador of the game within his country. It likely won't be long before the game takes off in Japan and Akira will certainly be ahead of the curve when it does. We're happy to have Akira as a member of the team.
