88 hand, minute 12ish:
why not raise flop? kills too much action? But arent there so many turns and rivers that are bad for us too? not sure how to evaluate this spot exactly

The video that won for the anniversary is not letting me watch the entire thing, just the 2 minute version. Is this a problem or am i reading this whole thing wrong

Im playing live 1/2 NL at a casino I have $160 (just lost a pot) in front of me, Villian has about $300. He seems like a big fish but has been runnig hot as soon as he sat down.

Im dealt A7hh in cut off. Its folded to me I make it $10, Villian calls from the button.

Flop A73ss

I check, he bets $17, I raise all-in to $150. He calls.

I knew he was going to call, which is why I made such a big bet and I was sure i was ahead. He had Q8ss. Was his call ok because of reverse implied odds or is my understanding of it wayyyy off?

Thanks for the math section at 8:45 when you're talking about the KT hand, I sometimes struggle with understanding the math.

I'm still not sure where you're getting the 27% from in that hand. Our pot odds are 37.5% so I'm just not sure where you got that number from when you said "We need to realize 27 percent."

So this actually brings me to another question: should our equity at least equal the pot odds (when not bluffing)?

Does Lucas do lessons?

seems like a lot of times toward the end (heads up) you knew he was inducing you and yet you couldnt lay it down. The AK limp was unexpected, but no way your 3 pair (or whatever it was) is good there. maybe tried hero calling too much?

Live $1/$2 nl he

Hero and villain both have stacks of about $300, no info on villian since it was early in the session but he seemed like he knew what he was doing

Preflop: UTG raises to $12, Hero calls with KhQc (another LP calls)

Flop ($39): Q25ss, Villian bets $20, Hero raises to $60, LP folds

Turn ($159): 5s, Villian bets $75, Hero calls

River ($309): 8c Villian checks, Hero Checks

Hero wins pot with two pair, Queens and Fives, King kicker.

I thought the raise on the flop was kind of bad because he can definitely have AQ but idk. His preflop open was a little big which is why i called (not raised), and reason I raised flop was because he was c-betting a lot and spades were there. The lead on the turn almost made me fold because 1.) the spade came and 2.) most guys at 1/2 live dont play that strong of a line with just top pair after getting raised. I guess my question is how often do u guys think im beat? Do I ever shove river? Do I ever call a shove on river?

Btw, he showed QJ right before he mucked.

at 4:15 with the KQo in the SB hand, I seem to be in this spot a lot. Is calling better? Or is this a straight fold? Calling seems to be playing our hand face up, and I always seem to think folding KQ hard if there isn't anything other than a regular 3x raise, so I never know if just folding is right. What about if its suited as to give our hand more EV/equity?

Comment | Nick Cannavino commented on Bluffing Rivers

Simon, isnt his range here just weaker aces and hands that beat you? Thats why i thought calling is fine here since i think he calls your shove with 2pair+
