Post | robetoblanco posted in Other: Is this rake beatable?

I had a question regarding rake impact on games. I got an offer from a 1-2 underground game where the rake is 10% 20 max with 5 dollars going to a high hand jackpot. The buy in is 500 max and after 4 hours of play if a player has over that amount they must adjust back to 500 max. These underground games have average preflop raises of at least 10x and are generally fishy badugi players that like to bluff a lot. I was offered 20/hour with 10% of my winnings going to the house at the end of the month with any amount of hours I choose to play.

I'm still pretty newb on rake impact so was wondering if this deal was worth it in the end? I also got a deal from another underground with the same blinds and structure but offered 15/hour at 10% 20 max including jackpot. Would that one be better at a similar game play? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

1-3 game live (500 max buy in) 8 handed

UTG limps, UTG+1 limps
Hero LJ makes it 20 (4x-6x norm in this game) (600 effective)
Button flats
Villain SB min raises to 40 (2nd orbit but from bet size can tell super fishy) (around 400 effective)
Folds around Hero calls.
Buttons calls.

Flop 623hhh.
Villain makes it 35.
Hero flats.
Button folds.

Turn is 9s.
Villain bets 100 (240 remaining)
Hero calls

River is 9c
Villain shoves 240
Hero tank calls.

Villain had Ahqs

*I did make the right call but I don't know if it is the correct call. I was going purely based on feel and him seeming fishy. Should i have folded turn or river? His minraise on sb seemed pretty weak in my opinion. I feel he would raise bigger with QQ+.

Deep Live 2-5 game

8 handed
UTG fish limp
UTG +1 raises 25 (3k effective)
Hero LJ raises 85 KsKh (2.3k effective)
Folds around UTG+1 raises 220 hero flats.

Flop Q42cc.
Villain bets 300
Hero calls.

Turn is 5d
Villain best 500
Hero calls.

River is Kd.
Villain checks.
Hero shoves for around 1.4k.
Villain tank calls.

*Villain I tagged as bad rec player. There was one hand where I flopped the nuts KJ on q109ss. I bet flop he called and on turn blank he min craised with j10o. I shoved for around 6x his craise amount and he called off.
*He has been playing pretty snug since and limp calling a lot of hands. He doesn't open often.

Should I have called the turn and if the river is a blank would you have called the river? I felt maybe my turn call wasn't ideal. This is a casino in Korea where you rarely see 4 bets and even less likely do that and double barrel bluff? On the other hand, he does seem like he can spaz.

My mistake forgot to add a 0 for villain and hero effective stacks!

Post | robetoblanco posted in NLHE: Can we ever fold KK river?

6 max pppoker 10-20 baht (comparable to .3-.6)

Villain HJ raise 60 (Effective 593) (abc player)
Hero CO 3 bet 180 KdKs (Effective 634)
Folds around to Villain who flats.

FLOP 7h5h7d (390 pot)
Villain check
Hero bets 130
Villain flats

TURN 6d (650)
Villain check
Hero bets 430
Villain flats

RIVER Qd (1510 pot)
Villain bets 144
Hero calls

Villain had QQ.

Can we ever fold here with Kd blocking a flush? My thinking was that my hand pretty much looks like an overpair and him being an abc player would probably not put in a fishy bluff knowing that on the river but on the other hand my hand is so strong lol.

Appreciate the advice in advance!

Post | robetoblanco posted in NLHE: AKss line bad?

PPpoker 6 max online 100-200 baht (comparable to 3-6usd)

Villain 1 UTG raise 600 (29590 effective) (donk raising utg pretty liberally)
Villain 2 HJ call 600 (65800 effective)
Villain 3 CO 3 bet 2400 (90100 effective) (solid good player)
Hero SB 4 bet 7200 AsKs (24610 effective)

Folds around to Villain 3 who flats.

FLOP 2h7h4c
Hero bets 5500 (leaving 11,910)
Villain flats

TURN Qs
Hero checks
Villain checks

River 2c
Hero checks
Villain shoves all-in
Hero folds

Question:
1) Was 4 betting there too light and was bet sizing too big?
2) When he calls should we be checking our frequency more than betting realizing he has a lot of op he is not going to fold?
3) Should I have shoved the flop instead with the awkward chip stack?
4) When he flats the flop should I just get it in on the turn with a little less than half pot remaining? (Figured there was not much fold equity)

Thanks for any advice in advance!

Bought in 1k at a 2-5 Aria game. (8 handed)

The first hand I sit down I get 8d8s UTG+1 on a UTG straddle.

Hero: Raises 35.
LJ (Effective stack 800): Flats.
SB: (Effective stack 1500): Raises 95. (First impression seems fishy by his bet sizing and gut feeling looks like the type that could be aggro.)
Hero flats
LJ flats

Flop: 245ddd
Checks around.

Turn 2c.
Sb leads 95.
I flat.
LJ folds.

River is Js.
Sb bets 700.

I folded.

Was wondering if it was a good fold and what could he possibly have and any other suggestions playing the hand?

(Later was told by a player that he check raised him on an aa3 board with K9 thus my assessment of him being bluff capable was right).

Post | robetoblanco posted in NLHE: 5-5 1K Cap Hand Evaluation

UTG +1 raises 20
MP+1 calls
CO call (Good Reg)
Button hero calls KJo

Flop is QQ10r
Checks to CO and he makes it 50.
Hero flats.
Folds around.

Turn is 3 (no backdoor draws.)
CO checks.
Hero makes it 75. (I make it small hoping to get him to call and any card was planning to bet big on the river outside a 10 and Q)
CO check raises to 275. (We both have around 1K remaining.)

I flat and river comes a K.
CO makes it 375 and hero folds.

*I feel like I played this hand bad in a lot of ways especially on the turn. Was wondering if betting there was bad on the turn and my rationale given above. Also is calling there bad as well? The only boat I could see him having is q10. I took out 1010 because he most likely 3 bets there on the CO and AQ in case I hit my straight. I feel like if I hit my straight I woud've been able to stack him. Also can he ever be bluffing in that spot?

Thanks.

Post | robetoblanco posted in NLHE: Did I play my AA's right?

8 Handed 5-5 1K cap game
Hero has 2K behind SB
Villain has 1.6K behind Button (Villain fairly tight preflop player but is capable of bluffing and calling off draws to over bets. Not a good player.
Also we re-raised each other couple times within the hour of playing so it does feel like we are going after each other a little bit.)

MP raises to 10, CO calls and Villain button makes it 35. (Which is relatively small.)
Hero raises to 85 with 2 red AA. (Made it small b/c I felt like his 3 bet was light and wanted him to definitely call.)
MP, CO folds and Villain flats.

Flop is Ac107ss (I have no spade)
I led out 80 and he makes it 200.
I repop to 250 on top for a total of 450 and he tanks and flats.
Turn is Qc. He has around 1.1 remaining and I shove.

He tanked for ages and folded.

I was curious what he could have possibly had in that type of spot. I was thinking AK but I have 2 blockers. Possibly AJss, KQss, QJss?

Also if I can get my play critiqued and also what would be the best play here?

Thanks!
