if anyone from this thread is interested in getting together on skype for a study group PM me. i'm currently playing 100nl / 100Zone.

@hardsin
If someone gives you advice, does it matter if the advice is coming from someone who plays 50nl? would you value the same advice differently if it was given to you by someone struggling at 5nl? Is there anyway for you to be able to take advice and determine for yourself if it is worth your time and effort?

@ arizonabay
i agree completely that pio is more valuable than snowie. that being said.
the information you gain from snowie, would it be worth more than 230$ over the course 5 years? would snowie teach me bad habits that are actually -ev over the course of 5 years?
i should mention, i study/play poker 40-70 hours a week, and i have weak postflop strat and medium level PF strat ATM (which i think pio or CRev equilibrium will help me figure out post flop)

i play 5-10nl ATM, eventually want to play 100NL.
I've been working towards a GTO foundation for the last few weeks, because of that, I've been looking into snowie a lot lately, I'm curious if any of you have tried it and if you thought it was worth $230 for a year. I think it would be silly to view it as a poker bible, but i think a lot can be learned from it. what do you think about snowie's lower tier versions?

also, I've been looking into pio and it looks amazing, i'd feel very comfortable spending $250 on pio, but now i wonder if i would be better off getting CRev.

TLDR:
would i be missing out if i bought CRev over pio?
is snowie worth $230/year?

Steve Paul's videos are very good with an emphasis on theory and GTO style play (how i take it). Cameron Couch's material of live play / leakfinder of live play are some of my favorites for improving

if anyone is interested, PM me. i'm part of a somewhat active skype study group for 2-25nl mainly. we could always use more members.

i would highly suggest to watch gameplay videos and see what they are doing in 3b pots.
it was surprising to me the first time i saw pros calling with what i thought was so light...

i like poker ranger, but i haven't tried CRev. but i agree with mason

July 19, 2016 | 3:41 a.m.

just seems so strong when he shoves like this. if hes super tight already + given positions bets took place, deep stack, timing tells, i might fold if i was playing my best poker i think. but isn't there a taboo about folding KK PF?

July 19, 2016 | 3:39 a.m.

i think it's villain dependent whether to 4b or call, if they stack off light w/ AJo+ then i like stacking off PF. i'd suggest to use a 25-33% cbet bet sizing in 4b pots, you can stack off easily with that sizing and people will fold about the same amount. have you messed around with figuring out GTO 3 bet spots? that would help you a lot to understand 3betting more. also, something that helped me to understand them more, was to just start defending a lot more vs 3bets. it's harder OOP, but the more you widen your defense range the more you'll see that people 3bet very light some times. anyways, hope something there helped.

July 19, 2016 | 3:35 a.m.

if you have reads villain might be calling flop light, what about checking back and delay cbet on any broadway or suit?

July 19, 2016 | 12:37 a.m.

vs 2nl fish, i would call this pretty frequently. if you ever see a fish show up with something here, just make a note of it. this isn't a bad spot for a note either way really (maybe his bet sizing)
note: donk 3barrel strong ~ pot/50%/overbet shove on AQ9tt25 (then indicate suits, i use tt = two tone & mt = 3 to a flush or mono tone)

Link to hand 1)

400 hands on "fishy" villain

61/53/ 38
ToT AF ~ 1.8
fold to 4b ~ 93
WTSD ~ 29
W$SD ~ 63
WWSF ~ 54

reads ~
he folds to 4bets a crazy amount for how much he raises.
he hasn't been mindlessly paying me off for someone with stats like him

Link to hand 2)

same villain as above

Link to hand 3)

same villain as hand 1 & 2
i put villain on a club flush OTR, i thought about raising OTR, but i thought it didn't make sense for me to have any value besides 3 combos of 99.

Link to hand 4)

is this just a super easy fold because of the odds OTF & his range is PP heavy?
Villain is a "bad reg" 1k hands

31/22/11
RFI CO ~ 28
fold to 3b ~ 23
x/r OTF ~ 8
wtsd/w$sd ~ 31/57

reads ~
that hes a 'bad player" ~ which i'm beginning to believe this "bad player" thinking hurts my winrate

Link to hand 5)

similar to hand #4, villain is a "bad reg"

24/13/9
ToT AF ~ 1.6
flop/turn x/r ~ 29/57
wtsd/w$sd/wwsf ~ 38/48/49

reads ~
he's kind of crazy
limp shoves AK ( 3 times )

we lose 5.5% by taking off A2o-A7o which brings us down to 29.4%. what would you use if not ace rags?

for CO, what about this range vs the hardest table?
22+,A2s+,K8s+,Q8s+,J8s+,T8s+,97s+,87s,76s,65s,54s,A7o+,KTo+,QTo+,JTo

then this one vs the softest table?
22+,A2s+,K7s+,Q7s+,J7s+,T7s+,97s+,86s+,75s+,64s+,54s,A2o+,K9o+,QTo+,JTo

Comment | TimeGoat commented on KK interesting spot

"So I thought his cold4bet was really strong"

if thats the case, why not 5bet?
doesn't seem as good to play post flop OOP and no initiative w/ KK 3way
both of their sizing PF is very weak.

i would have 5bet PF anywhere between 60-75 cents

i think their range OTF is not as strong as you think it is because of the very small raises PF.

They could have a lot of pocket pairs here
i think all sets are in his range if not a large part of his value range
which 99 would play just as he did OTF

as played OTT, his bet sizing makes things weird... i probably just shove OTT

you cant fold OTR anyways because your price is too good, and its possible he has pair +gut shots and random stuff here too, but they cant fold OTT because their price is too good also
