Haha, I ended up in this hand in a smaller stakes game and the villain turned up AA. (i got stacked)
pre flop play (1/2 live cash we each had 350ish behind)
him: raise 15 (standard raise)
me: three bet 30
him: four bet 115
me: shove

Call imo...

Your case was somewhat different but I think the general idea is the same. JJ or pocket 10's probably just flats your three bet or shoves I think... him four betting for value makes more sense for something like AA/KK. So basically the value hands of his range have you crushed (with the exception of AK) and you are just ahead of four bet bluffs which will fold to a shove.

Alright everyone! Am i a fish or a ninja?
Setting:
1/2 live cash game in dallas texas (these games play big, probably plays more like a 1/3... maybe even a 2/5)
Second hand of the night I have 200 behind and wake up in the small blind with AA
The primary villain has around 1.4k behind and has straddled on the button

Preflop:
UTG: limp 5 (around 500 behind)
UTG +2: limp 5 (around 500 behind)
folds around to me.in the small blind with AA... I raise it to 20 (probably a little bit light... what should I have made it?)
Villain on the button: call (around 1.4k behind)
UTG: call
UTG+2: call

POT: 80 USD
Flop:
K Q 8 rainbow

Me in SB: 20
UTG: call
UTG+2: call
POT: 140 usd
villain: 115 (nearly putting me all in)
me: call (at this point I am risking 95 more to win over 250), and If i call i only have 20-30 more
utg: fold
utg+2: fold

Turn:

at the turn card I have maybe 30 USD left and it goes in

He turns up KQo... and i get stacked second hand of the night... what does everyone think of my play?
FWIW there are 16 combos of JTo and 9 combos of KQ... both are plausible hands and plausible that he would play that way given the stack depth and him having position.
AK QQ and KK can probably be eliminated from the likely possibilities.... I suppose there are 3 combos of 88 left in the deck which also be bad for me.

No need to feel to bad for me though... i would re-buy for 200 USD and run it up to 600 over the next 2ish hours (primarily off of the same guy)

For reference about my experience level, I have played micros online and 6 live cash games.
Had quite a rocky start to both but have been running pretty hot and more comfortable playing for money lately (opposed to small bar freerolls), I also took advantage of another sites free resources.
I conceptually understand things like blockers, combinations, and try to size my betting to fold out stronger hands when I am weak/ get called by weaker hands when i am strong. And i have specific strategies for targeting relatively soft 1/2 games (that would be relatively useless at higher stakes, I also try to realize when i need to play balanced )... That said even when I probably don't need to be balanced due to inattentive players I still play balanced.

I think I will wait for more input from some people and then probably just go with the book. I looked at the sample which contained a table of contents and thought the theoretical concepts would be helpful.

I am strongly considering purchasing two offerings from this website:
1. From the Ground up which is the course by peter clarke
2. Poker foundations which is the ebook

The only issue is that the first item (From the Ground Up) appears to be for 6 max instead of 9 ring.... the venues I play at seem end up having 8-9 people per table. Will the Peter Clark course (From the Ground Up) still be useful? What adjustments should i make to his advice? I was thinking I would just want to be tightening up the ranges from earlier positions pre flop as there are more people to act behind me.
