I think that there is merit to everything said here. However a lot of the times us as player worry about trying to sound smart and impressing with elaborate writings and such. The reality is all you need to do is build your charter through extremely hard work the 3 ways listed below will give you the fundamental thought process needed to all you to apply any strategy in really time. Remember there are a lot of people who know everything about poker but because of laziness and the inability to put in hours of off the table work in the foundation of the game they are never able to get the results they want.
1.play the10% of hands
2. have a hand recording system to test spots of the table
3. Learn to use equity and ev interchangeably Real time with an estimate and Off the table with hours and hours of practice. ( can worry about ranges if you haven't mastered how to evaluate these 2) the fact that this is a question shows the lack of mastery

That repetition gets your mind ready to handle the learning process of poker regardless of what style you want to play. The tight range teaches mental discipline to stick with a strategy the more skilled you become with the basics the more robust your game can become, but you have to put your time in! Remember the "EGO/mental game" will never allow an on the fence player truly excel without proper humility to take the time to fine tune the character and mindset of the logic surrounding poker. All Strategies are built off the the individual players understanding and application of these three things.
