HI Wei. About that last QTo hand. Can you explain a little bit what makes this spot a good bluff. Because I struggle to determine that kind of stuff. I would just look at this turn, said to myself "it fits his range, I have better turns to bluff on" and wouldn't bluff. Same with the river. I would assume that there are not many hands in his range that gonna play like that and want to fold the river and just checked. I feel that I lack understanding of what is the thinking pattern in spots like that and what are the most important things to look at when deciding if we want to bluff a cetrain spot or not. Thanks.

Great video as always. 32 min 2nd table. What do you think is SB's leading range here? If he is a reg he probably shouldn't have that many two pair hands and do you think we can make him fold sets with 2 FDs on the board? Do you think he's gonna lead Tx type hands here? Does it affect your decision that he has 60BB stack? Thanks.

Isn't that assumption that most villains will jam sets+ and str8s and just call with draws makes hero's call a bad one? His odds are 39% and vs sets+ hero has about 25%. Even vs sets, str8s, AdJd, Ad8d, 7d8d, 6d7d it's just 33% equity. We pretty much need for V to shove a looot of FDs or shove two pairs for a +EV call.

3:50 1 table. What do you think about going for a xr to push him off a split?
He has a lot of Ax hands and shouldn't have many boats or flushes and you can have quite a bit.

I really like those your videos. I think slow pace and methodical approach make them way better for learning than 4tabling zoom kind of stuff.

Assuming I'm not gonna call BB's shove on rvr without a FH even on a non heart rvr, then maybe it's better to just shove turn?
Would you call otr?

CO 20/12 reg
SB 36/21 fish
At the time I assumed that CO would Cbet all his Axs for value vs fish, so I decided to bet twice turn+rvr to make him fold his KK- hands.
I guess KQ is a crapy hand for this as I block huge piece of the range I'm trying to make CO fold. Would you check turn? Bet turn, check river?

Comment | uresmane commented on TOP 2 VS ACTION

I dunno. Yeah, pot odds are great, but I'm vs 2 dudes and I have 2 beat both of them. I thought that BTN pretty much never has a weaker hand. Maybe couple of combos.

Here is the thing. If CO has a 2 pair or set that makes borderline impossible for BTN 2 have a weaker hand coz CO will have 2 many blockers for sets and 2 pairs in BTN's range. Even a Kx type hand reduces amount of weaker combos in BTN range coz I don't think BTN will go crazy like that with T9s often.

So there is the weird dynamic: if CO has a str8 (he can have both lower and higher small %) we're fucked. If he doesn't he has blockers and that increases numbers of str8s in BTN's range (he can have a lower str8 sometimes as well I think). And also it eats our outs. It seems like we're fucked either way.

If you expect him 2 have overpairs then your shove is good. If not then it's from meh to quite bad and you should call.

Aug. 30, 2015 | 10:31 a.m.

Don't you think that by checking hands like TT and JJ we're making our cbeting range to weak? I mean hero probably wants to 3bet a lot here given BN's fold to 3 bet. And I guess he wants to cbet this texture very wide as well. So when we only have Qx+ value hands in our range we may find ourselves with very crap heavy cbetting range that will make us vulnerable to floats and raises.

Then of course when we bet TT and JJ our checking range becomes unbalanced, but since we're cbeting here like 90% do we really care?
I guess my question is how much of a priority balancing our cbeting range is when our checking range is very small.

Imo you read a bit too much into his 3bet based on 236h. I would give him 20% of JJ max.
It's tough spot cause v can't have JhXh hands and probably should've raised sets on earlier streets. He can have busted fd, some 99, TT mb even 66-77 to turn into a bluff, but I wouldn't expect to win 30% of the time. What was his hand?

UTG - fishy unknown, SB regish unknown.
A few questions about this hand.
1. Is it ok to overlimp sc vs short(ish) stacks or it should be isolate/fold? Do you ever overlimp this sort of hands? What would you do if v had 40 BB? 30? 20?
2. Is there any other way to play this hand postflop? I need to collect like 15 BB otr when I hit my outs. Can I call here ip? What about shove? If his range is like Jx (about 20 combos), QQ+ (18 combos), two pair+ (12 combos), some fd and sd (like 10 combos) I'm doing pretty good if he folds Jx and draws + we have some eq when called. The problem is we can't rep much of a strong hands.

Comment | uresmane commented on Q2s SB vs BB

I don't like this defend. If hero would know that SB is reg and he opens 50+% for sure with 2bb size than defend would be fine. But vs 3bb from unknown SB I think we make meh call small % of the time and make a very bad call vs most of our opponents. An average nl5 reg SB steal is about 30-35% I think. Q2s is about 60%-range hand. There is no reason to defend that wide.
Even if hero wants to defend unexploitably he can use like a bit under 40% vs this size and Q2s is way beyond that. I'm not even talking about that it's going to be impossible to defend that wide of a range postflop. Especially vs unknown.
For example we are in about top-25% of our def range with Q2s on that turn and feel highly uncomfortable. Keep in mind that we have to continue with 50% of our def range (twice as big) ott to prevent SB from printing money.

2Will Hero is HU.
1/3 fold is the way to go 4 me. Mb a bit bigger like 6 bucks to make him less willing 2 call w AK ang than give up. That's what I would do.

Aug. 25, 2015 | 12:59 p.m.

What do you guys think about his 3bet otf? Your raise given only gs are possible looks very strong so his 3bet looks even stronger. I doubt he's ever doing it with a hand like A4s or AT. What's the point? I wouldn't expect to get called by one pair type hand and hero probably doesn't raise with those otf in the first place.
If you think he can ever bluff like that you have to calldown. V reps 3 combos of AA so you need 1 combo to beat since your odds are 24\17\22.
