Where is the thin line?

As we develop as poker players we learn how to gather, interpret and use information. Experience, knowledge and "reading abilities" interact in a complex way, so every second we can come with a sophisticated (and hopefully correct) decision. So, here is my question and what I feel as a big problem in my game:

- How do we find (and not cross) the fine line between using information and skill just the right amount, without going into leveling territory. I feel that the harder I try to use my supposed skill advantage, the deeper I go into the leveling abyss and there, as we all know, lies only spew and tilt. How can we use our full skill potential, without suffering from leveling and fps?
