Thanks for the advice! So would you guys rather have i3/8gb or i(5or7)/4GB? So pretty much which is more important: RAM or processor?

Does anyone have any suggestions for specs needed if i am only running bovada, ACR and Carbon? I currently have a mac laptop and run windows on parallels (just bc the mac version of the pokersites are buggy). All advice appreciated, thanks!

The way Sam played 87 (mainly the check on river ) was very sick. Anyone else have any thoughts on this hand? I can post HH if need be

+1 to Scoop 109 video...very good vid, cant wait for rest of series

I feel like your fold is good vs any reasonable vbetting range. And if you can fold a hand as strong as an 8, Sams value bet seems far too thin and a mistake IMO

I am also in the market for a non-mac laptop to play the US sites (bovada, carbon and ACR).  I currently have a mac laptop and the poker sites just suck on there or dont exist for mac.   Any suggestions on which min specs I should get?    I will be running either PT4 or HM and the 3 sites all at once.   THX

@20:50 on wsop table I think that you misread the action and end up c/c flop and leading blank turn on AQJx board.   This brings me to a strat question: versus lets say a standard reg on carbon, what type of boards do you have a c/c flop, lead turn range?   Whats the logic behind having a leading turn range?   I find myself very unbalanced when I c/c flp, bet turn; mostly weighted towards nutty hands.   My (almost certainly flawed logic) is I dont want them to chck behind on scare cards and mis value.  If this question is giving away too much I completely understand.   Thx

Im not sure how this wasnt mentioned yet, but rake is the biggest factor.    The rake is almost never capped at the micros so 5% of every single pot is going to the house and therefore in an anonymous game with high rake it seems almost impossible to beat.   I wouldnt be shocked if some of the worlds best could barely beat specifically micro stakes, anonymous, zone poker over a large sample size

Ive dabbled in 25, 50 Zone and felt that it might almost be unbeatable with anonymous/high rake/no rakeback but its seems like you have def proved me wrong!   Whats the best way to bumhunt on bovada?   Feel like it would be alot of, sitting at a table, not seeing a ton of mistakes and leaving the table for a new random anonymous table.

Hey Nick- I really like the video series, especially seeing how you can exploit players that are playing far from GTO.

I had a question about the method you were teaching your students to help develop ranges (at ~59:00).   I hope this does not come off as nitpicky, I am just rather confused and very interested in the topic.   Your advice is to always check when you have a range advantage.   But I would guess that you also advocate checking when you have a range disadvantage.    So if most flops fall into you having a range (dis)advantage, are you suggesting to start by checking almost all hands when you are the PFR?   What about hands where it is unclear who has the range advantage, would you advocate cbetting with some frequency?

Also I had a suggestion for possible future videos, I think you should try to a video where you review footage from these games.   This way you can go slightly more in depth about certain hands while pausing the video (and even breaking down the math using software) while still seeing a ton of hands.

Thx midori! Your analysis is spot on IMO, i was planning on possibly shoving a non diamond board pair on the river if he checked to me.   BTW Im no midstakes PLO expert by any means but I think alot of players on this site are rarely 3betting pf with non AA hands.   Thanks for the insight

In a very limited sample size w Villian he seems to be competent.   Should I fold the flop? Should I shove the turn?  Should I fold the river?   Ive never felt worse with the nuts in my life after he c/r POT on the turn.   Any insight appreciated

Thanks for the quick response Nick, my reasoning looking back on the hand is that I think its very unlikely he is checking turn and then not C/R with a lower set.   I would just be surprised if he has a very balanced checking twice range.   And although the games are loose, I would expect most players to look at my river near-pot and just call with non-nut value hands and never bluff because it so expensive.   That being said, I am probably overthinking this hand and should just be listening to your advice bc you are a boss and I am a nowhere near that for midstakes cash.   Thanks for the input!

Its 6 handed I am in CO with QQ, Villain is SB.  Villain has not been table long but seems to be a thinking, decent player for these stakes.   I do not have a HUD.   I have about $1300 in front of me, Villian has just over $600.   We have limited to no history against each other.

I think vs a thinking player who is pretty much never bluffing here this is much closer to a fold than I initially thought in-game.    I am overthinking this cooler?   Any insight would be appreciated, thanks

No bovada?  I wanted to see the adjustments made for anonymous play :(

Phil- I personally think the best videos you have done are the couple with Jakoon, where you guys are reviewing a MTT.   A video with another ROI pro where you are playing a MTT or where a non-PLO pro is playing PLO would be great

July 29, 2014 | 2:50 a.m.

I liked the video alot, I like how detailed it was and how long it took bc theres so much more info/wierd dynamics in live poker.   Without getting too much into your specific opening ranges, you say you never have 22 or 33 here, so do you always open fold those UTG in this spot (~60 bbs deep)   Would you open small PP in EP 9 handed, w 20k @50/100? 20k 100/200 no ante?  Thx!

The hand in question is starts at around 35:55

Faraz Jaka on just under 10 bbs minraises with 66 on the button instead of shoving.   After the weaker player 3b from the SB and KJ snap coldcalls the 3b, Faraz can get away w 66.   Any thoughts on why Faraz would open this hand instead shoving?  I would appreciate any input, as long as its not very results orientated :-) Thx

@19:25 in the warmup do you ever lead the turn with that hand?  Do you have a call flop/turn leading range in general?   And what are ur thoughts on that line?  Thx!

May 22, 2014 | 9:47 a.m.

@ 13.38 you have K9o in the sb with ~4100 chips at 140/280 in the big ben...surprised you didnt open shove and elected to just raise.   Were u r/f?  Would you ever jam this vs a good reg?   I think its +cEV even vs opponents calling off correctly, but obv might not be optimal.  Thanks

I am playing more and more PLO (mainly .5/1 to 1/2 on bovada) and I seem to run into the situation alot where I am an nearly 100% certain my opponent has AAxx in his hand bc he 4bets pot oop and he simply isnt creative to do it with anything else. Now my question is when I have KhXhxx and I am certain he has AAxx approx how often does he have AhXh in his hand? Any sort of insight would help. Thanks

Joel
