i think this is a really spot on analysis. The reason I posted it was because villain called off so light her so i wasnt sure if it was a good turn shove or not but i see its probably really close if hes calling w 66/77/AQ.

so i think it is a good shove vs this particular villain but against others its probably pretty spewy.

thanks

Pre is okay but I think you can also sqz to iso the fish IP. Just kind of depends on the HJ player. I think by calling here we can keep our range really strong.

Flop - Im not sure if im in love w x/r here. I see that youre trying to iso the fish but i think now that HJ has bet into two ppl hes not going to fold a lot of Qx on a dry board + you rep such a narrow value range. I probably just fold the flop but maybe thats too straight forward?

As played, vs a fish i definitely think river is a v-bet and like your size. just think hes pretty much bluff catching w QJ/KQ when he checks the turn and river

like if you have enough equity and odds to call then I dont think calling can be bad however, i probably just fold here. We're investing so much of our stack w T high.

Calling is obviously not a mistake though.

I prefer x/c flop to donking here vs a min open UTG. we have plenty of equity and by donking he probably just going to fold all his AJ/KQ broadways and stuff that have whiffed the flop. Think we can sometimes jsut get a bet from his air

Feb. 10, 2014 | 11:37 p.m.

This is pretty much what i thought as well but kind of felt nitty.

Feb. 8, 2014 | 4 p.m.

this is my thoughts exactly. just wondering about river sizing as a bluff?

Feb. 8, 2014 | 4:19 a.m.

yeah sure hes a fish but he kinda looks like he has a tight openign range and is passive. Im like indifferent to pre now cause i can see merits to both calling and 3betting.

As played, Im just calling down cause we have just about enough equity vs a pretty nutted range imo.

(Equity,  Win,  Tie)

Player 1:  38.79%  21.76%  34.06%  [AhQh]

Player 2:  61.21%  44.18%  34.06%  {88-77, AQs, 87s, AQo}

Board:  [8c Qs 7h Th ?]

Feb. 7, 2014 | 6:33 p.m.

i know it doesnt change our equity however, it does narrow my range i think. like if i have KQ or QJ or soemthing im going to be barreling the turn as well. and this way i can try to get one pair hands OTR to fold as well cause i dont expect like AJ hand to fold when i take a bet, check, bet line.

hmm never really considered overbetting the turn. what other hands would we overbet the turn with?

To transfer settings its, Help --> My Settings Folder --> copy all folders but mainly only need the notes.player (XML) and User (txt) then paste them in the new PS My Setting Folder

Feb. 5, 2014 | 10:06 p.m.

I just copied and pasted PostgresSQL, Processed (HandHistory) folder and PT4 onto a USB then copied it over to my new computer. Not sure about specific setting but it kept all my HUDs and stats.

The other way is to just export all your hands, HUDs, etc and then just re-import. Let me know if you have troubles and i can show u on skype

Janda for sure. It's kinda a tough read but I find it really interesting

Feb. 4, 2014 | 7:39 p.m.

thanks guys. seems pretty trivial now but sometimes I just want to make sure im applying the appropriate logic vs villains range and not just taking silly lines

Feb. 4, 2014 | 5:47 a.m.

Originally, i was w masons line of thought but then when i was reviewing this I kinda realized his range is going to be a lot of 77-JJ/KQ maybe KJ.

But I think he has SDV when he calls the flop cbet w the BTN left to act.

...so then this makes a clear v-bet right? If so, then I think my turn cbet should be really small to keep his range as wide as possible

I probably call cause hes a fish and could probably do this w any random hand because he feels like it.

Versus any reg i think it would be a fine fold. If he didnt donk, you were probably just going to b/f the same amount so I wonder how much this really changes anything esp vs a fish?

Feb. 3, 2014 | 2:09 a.m.

^ agree w bronson. defending 77 here is most likely going to be a losing call.

RootBeerGuy also makes a good point in that you rep nothing but I just wanted to add that vs some non-thinking players this might work because ppl just assume a river x/r is the nuts all the time. but I think making this a habit is going to be harder and harder to get away w as we move up in stakes cause we rep such a small value range.

Feb. 3, 2014 | 2:06 a.m.

Comment | Attrition commented on what size of bet

Yeah I would generally 3bet this pre as there are a lot of other hands that I would prefer to just call w vs a btn minraise.

Flop: I think your x/r is too small. I would x/r to ~$5.50

Turn: This is a good card for him as there are now less combos of 22, A2 which represents a lot of our x/r value range OTF and becuase of this Id be inclined to bet more (maybe about $7ish) on the turn and then jam river.

Feb. 3, 2014 | 2 a.m.

I doubt hes 3betting that wide in the SB vs an MP open. If we had his 3bet vs MP from the SB stat, I can almost guarantee it would be <6%.

I think its fine as played. We have very little FE and vs the hands hes goign to GII w were probably not going to have a +EV decision and its deep. Hand looks wp imo!

Hey Daz - any chance you could help me w this?

Jan. 20, 2014 | 4:45 a.m.

Sounds good - appreciate it. glgl

Jan. 18, 2014 | 3:49 p.m.

@ Daz - so if villains 4bet is 29% how is that KK+/AK? I appreciate the help dude

Jan. 18, 2014 | 3:22 p.m.

lets say he 4bets to 22BB.

Open size: 2.5BB + 1BB (big blind)

3bet size: 10BB

4bet Size: 22BB

Risking: 19.5BB to win 13.5BB

MDF = 13.5 / (13.5+19.5) = 41%

And yeah lets assume I never flat 4bets here, how do I solve for a correct 5bet jamming range? Thanks for the help Bdon
