I think those guys in low stakes MTT are pretty hard to deal with and you're a good example of it, from my experience, with a read like yours on him, meaning he's a fish, I might just shove pre with him calling me with worse hand... Now the A on the flop is a bit annoying however I think that whenever he has Ax he has to bet on that type of flop with a flush and straight draw.

Checking back an Ace here is just bad in my opinion, you can represent AJ, AK, KQs, KJs, AA+ etc so when he checks back it just shows he doesnt have the ace most of the time.

Now when you check the turn, you just give up on the pot and he knows that, he checks back, and now the 7c isnt a good card at all so you're stuck. Checking the flop isnt bad but I feel like you should have bet the turn just to see what he does, now if he calls on turn, you can decide to check on river where he might check back with missed straight draws etc, you can also hero call the river but with your stack depth it's pretty difficult to do anything.

It might be a confusing message but yeah, pretty much shove pre flop would be my number one play even if it sounds bad, with fish like that, they might just call with worse hand than you, basically any pair from 66, sometimes some suited broadways etc

You're right, I think I just need to overpass the fear of calling more or less "light" on those spots, I just need to pick the right spots like Zenful mentioned

Post | Ozboq posted in Chatter: Fear of upgrading my mtt's buy in

Hey everyone,

Very very common question here, I still wanted to ask it personnaly though.

So i've been playing since i'm 12/13, both live and online, recreationally for most of it. I'm now 23 and I decided to take poker to another level and make it a regular income that's why I've been working on my poker, trying to better myself through run it once and other pieces of information I could get and on the 10th of february I decided to invest 100euros, just to see where it would lead me, I had no idea of bankroll managment back then and was playing 2e to 10e buy in and lucky enough I've won more or less 300 euros on the first month, so with that bankroll I grinded a lot of 2euros tournament and 5euros which leads me to now April 13th with a bankroll of 1000euros.

I was applying the 1percent rule but I must say that when i had 800 or 900 on my bankroll it was easy to play 8 to 6 tournaments at 5e buy in every night but now that I have 1000e I literally fear to spend 60 to 80 every session, even if it worked out for me I just have some doubts and really have no real and concrete idea on how to manage my bankroll. I'm really clueless on bankroll management and really need help on that.

I'm also sorry for english mistakes I could have made, thank you for reading my post
