hi paul,

about the Aces hand at around 6mn :

in that 3bet pot you're cbetting 1/4ish both flop and turn,

seeing that his peeling ranges is full of suited broadway hands and connectors wich got lots of equity on that board, wouldn't it be better to build the pot in order to shove turn?

i remember getting a lot of trouble in that kind of spots, letting the guy play his holdings perfectly.

great to see you using ICMizer in your spots!

Steppenwolf : can you show us how a man with "some balls" talks?
when you say some, is that more than two?

"MTT zeitgeist" i love that term ahaha, some philosophy in our maths world <3

i like to barrel turn rags vs reggish players, it looks really strong to them, as barreling overcards looks too convenient...
i give up if called turn, people dont like to call weaks draws when the board pairs

Aug. 20, 2013 | 7:21 a.m.

i would like to know the avg stack/players left on the tournament, it could help :

low variance approach : what you did here
high variance approach : 3bet inducing/shoving the flop to take what seems to be a good old flip vs his range?

Aug. 18, 2013 | 2:22 p.m.

i think tha'ts a bit too wide with that less fold equity, K7s would be a clear jam tough

Comment | ashroth commented on ICM doubt in FT

you're running at 43% equity vs his top 11% 3betting range + pot odds = youre running BE without ICM  considerations then just fold it!
in addition you're FE isnt changing at all, and playing with a weak image is sometimes cool, they will ICM abuse you wider, so just widen you're value range then.

about sizings, the bigger the standard player 3bets oop, the less he wants to play it post, some better kicked aces are definetaly in his range + somes sevens to jacks

not taking this 4B reshove spot unless i'm the effective stack...

is 3x his standard 3betting size?

Aug. 8, 2013 | 10:36 a.m.

i agree with nick, we are in MTTs no need to know the exact cEV for every spots, unless uve got a line with for example 1K cEV and the other line with 4k+...
it still really nice to make exact maths, if you decide to join HUhypers it will be a must have, cause edges are so thin with a 5% capped ROI and some agressive rake.

BTW i recommend people to join this format, i think this is the better combo with MTTs helps us to play every board textures with 25x-, really helpfull for MTT post shallow plays.

Aug. 7, 2013 | 8:12 a.m.

sure its weird, dont you think he would bet thinner with nutstraight?
as nick said, if your table is really comfortable nothing more that just folding
can we have vilain's stats?
do you think ATo/s is in his pre 3betting range BTN vs HJ?
seeing the buyin, maybe not...

in addition we have a blocker T to his nutstraight combos

yeah as you said tough spot, 1 hand beats us but how much can spew on that deck?
i think im calling here

Comment | ashroth commented on Rebuy/addon strategy

the most chips you start with, the better it will be. rebuy and play it like a deepstack.
cubes tournaments after addons got huges preflop pots to steal, the key to win cubes and storms, is your grind after addon period (most players plays are like lions before addon but they turn in sheeps after it). before addon its just std deep play, widden ur stakoff ranges, people like to gamble a lot to dbl up.
for my part, after my starting rebuy, i rebuy only once, i take every addons obv, remember that if you click more on that rebuy btn, youll not be BE at min cash

thats how i play it :o

Aug. 7, 2013 | 4:35 a.m.

fak its not even close :o
what do you guys think about vilain's turn folding range?

Aug. 6, 2013 | 3:21 p.m.

hey guys, was the one to play that hand, but my friend crazyravioli posted it faster cuz we had a long debate about that one.

youre absolutely right skyzoph, cEV would be close beetween these 2 lines.

degnovic, i just cant check fold on that river, i think we still ahead 25% - 30% of his turn calling range, and with pot odds and blabla

Post | ashroth posted in Chatter: HU hypers coaches?

hey guys,

runitonce is big and great, but i think we miss one or couple SNG HU hypers coaches...

what do you think about it?

May 20, 2013 | 11:59 a.m.

cool to see some winamax stuff,
i was sure that Wankeur wasn't french, seeing how he was playing :)
btw i know L33T31 in real life, he's making weird stuff

May 19, 2013 | 9:21 a.m.

though spot,

i think you've made a good fold i, you're just beating QT ... i guess, only a degen should shove it right here.
not leading flop for him with KJ / J9 is standard, planning to c/c and c/r turn, maybe thats why he snap shoved river, frustated to get no action on the flop and beeing horny seeing you value raising river

he never has 77, wouldnt bet turn...
you've got the read !

btw i'm french, curious to know that guy's nickname seeing hes some reg :)

Hey guys, i'm in a pretty tough spot and i need some piece of advice.

I have to tell you my "story", will be easier for you guys to evaluate all this.
I'm a former someking of gamer pro, was a top counter strike player, and geeked so much MMOs, DotA and stuff.
I quitted games for poker 1 year ago, (before i was just playing one time a month with friends for 5€, smoking pot and drinking, did not know what was a 3bet)
so i started, taking the game as any other game, removing the idea of money, and thinking about "levels"
limits were my levels i had to beat to get to the other one.
Started SNGs won some bucks (150$ or smtgh) on stars.fr
Went to NLSH, going from 2NL to 25NL in 3month (20 BI management), rolled up 1K
cashed out some, made a cool party with friends like "yeah i'm a shark girls see"
anyway

NLSH went boring for me, i loss motivation to grind 6-8 tables and make thousands of hands and beeing BE due to short badruns, and little spews.
Started MTTs seriously in october , won one or two 5€ to roll me up, then at the end of november, powered up my roll to 2K€, with some good final tables.

Then i had some health problem (december), staying at home and couldnt work or even move out.
for informations i'm project manager in communication, especially for politics.
so i decided to work my game even harder than before and trying to get the approach of a full time grinder
compared my situation with goku's time room where he trained with gohan to beat cell ahaha

anyway here i am now :

http://fr.sharkscope.com/#Player-Statistics//networks/Winamax.fr/players/ashroth1
registered runitonce after my 5.5K € won in february
my skill doubled up since that, btw thanks MTT coaches focus, on paul, espen, grayson, nick.

here is my problem now :

i have to get back to work in 3 weeks, despressing me...
roommate leaving paris, have to find another one (flat costs 1400€/month)
and my bestfriend who lives in slovakia (financial director there) says to me :
hey got a new big flat, i got ps.com, come live here, grind, get pro.
seeing how i improve every month, and how hard i work that game, why not?
i'm still young 24yo..

here we are!
i know the golden age of poker is over, but seeing all of this, i need your advices, i really dont know what to do...

thanks for reading all that boring stuff...

March 25, 2013 | 12:30 p.m.

yeah agreed with 2nd barrel/folding, trivial fold in that spot
but by cheking behind cant get that info

March 25, 2013 | 11:39 a.m.

imo, normal 3bet/fold
i'll make it strong like 2.7x or mb more, he wont call too often here i guess
on these players i think you dont need to be jamming, youll never get 4b light
his 4b range there would be AK maybe AQ, TT+ then easy fold
would be horrible to be snapped now 3 left with HUGE edge
and beeing vulnerable to your next reshove is not what you want here i guess
would make even more sense with the lobby opened seeing the 2K€ steps
and they'll loose patience in some orbits, pretty sure of that

March 23, 2013 | 12:04 p.m.

saw a player called senterpied on winamax.fr :)
are you still alive? did not you die laughing?

March 23, 2013 | 11:34 a.m.

i'm french, but these guys were devil.
stars is still the french tough room
ask paul (senter), he just created an account on winamax.fr (more volume than psfr)
i think he laughed a lot
you will be surprised with garantees there :)
