In a Live Marathon MMT, (re-entries until Level 6,) I had this spot.

Run Level 10/13. blinds level every 30-min.
Blinds 1600/800 BU Ante 1600.

I had 68K effective stack. 56BB.

I was in SB with AKo. The action started with the raise prelfop from CO (100K, the chipleader of the table. He was openning many times and showing winners in showdowns, such as QQ, KJs, AJo). I was making some squezzes and 3-bet him a couple times before, so he'd had a loose image of me.

Pot 4K
CO raise 4K
BU folds
SB - Hero re-raise to 15K
BB folds
CO shove

I decided to call due to I was blocking AA/KK but that was not enough because I didn't make snap call. I thought things such as QQ, JJ and maybe KK. Probably, with AA he could done 4-bet. Other thing that impulse me to call was, If I double up. I would get 130K and getting into Day2 with 40BB and after my image at the table he could think that I had a large range.

It was a good call? or was too risky for that instance of tourney?

I have to admit the he'd 4-bet me, I fold. And with my fold after Villian shove, I'd kept almost 45BB, reasonable stack to still playing my game and making a couple moves.

He shoved with AK, too

I used to use PioSolver (very simple to use). Also when I took coaching. Honestly, since more than 1.5 years that I’m not using any program. Just talking about hands and situations in casinos with couple regs. I’m playing live poker.

Hi bopav,

I’d like the call. Due to he had 122BB eff against yours 45BB. He 3bet u very large with not much information I’d took care about the blinds level (was an initial phase) with your call your stack decresed up to 35BB you can keep doing interesting moves in that toruney phase. Returning with the call, you can put him on ranges such as TT+, AJs (you are blocking J), AQs, AKs. You can get a “Cheap” flop, position and then depends on his bet postflop you can increase your Odds.
Instead, Idk how you play with a lower stack but shove with JJ is not too bad depends on your thoughts about his range.

Hi all,

How are your thoughts?

I'd 150BB effective stack as well of Villain. In HJ, after all folds I raise $6 with K7c. In CO, just called a reg/pro. Pot 7.5 BB. He had a very narrow range and an image of tight in all tables.

Flop Kh 3s 4c

Hero leads 1/3 pot. Vill calls. Pot 12.5BB

Turn Tc

Hero 1/2 Pot. Vill raise x2. Hero calls. 36.5BB

River 7c

Hero bets 3/4 of the pot. Vill tanks and fold.

My thoughts, if I were checked he might checked too and I lost the value. Also, if he had a small flush or the straight he can call.

Was ok my bet or I may check many times?

Good decisions mi gente!!

Hi guys,
In this case, the tourney was running at a Day 1A of qualy - frezzeout. Remaining 6 levels to finish the day.
Blinds 500/1000 antes 200. I had 85BB the avg was 60BB.
I received AQo in UTG. I decided to limp. Until the action came to the BU which was a kind of "rock player". He raised to 4k everyone folded and I made the 3-bet to 13k. He instantly shoved.
I waited almost a minute and I folded.

Then I thought, maybe was a good fold I could crush over AA-AK-KK-QQ (just to get my mind on focus) but then I thought about that could be a "good spot" to try to reach more chips. Maybe he can had a low pair, also.
Im not to regular in "tourneys with many days of qualification".

People who is regular at this kind of MMT, will be folding? or just waited to another spot?

TY

Hi guys,
The hand was like that:
Blinds 20k/10k antes 2k...I had 27BB

I was changed of the table. In the first hand I received AQo in BB. The villain in UTG with almost 40BB did a mini raise. Everybody folds. My action was a 3-bet and the villain did a 4-bet all in. I was thinking and I finally called.
He shown KK. And the board didn't help me.

My "pow": I did the call because I thought that could be a good spot in that situation if I won I was up to the 4th place. I knew that he can have AA/AK/KK, because I didn't have prior info of the villian. But as I played with that misinformation I can put him also with low pairs.

I finished in the 47th placed in the tourney with a sour sensation because I was in the 13th place in the last hand.

It's a good "spot" to called?
Ty!

He has a normal stack. My question, puntually, is about if I put him in TT+ is a good spot to call with AQo? Taking the stage of the tourney.

Hi!

I was playing in a $22 R/A. The period of add on was finished. I was 13/240 - 99 placed paid - avg chips 68k - blinds increased every 10 min - I had 115k.

Blinds: 1000/2000 ante 250.

My turn came without action in MP+1 and I received AQo. I open raised to 3bb...SB raised all -in for almost 40k (20BB) I thought in small pairs TT-22, I tanked 25 sec more and I decided to called about my stack.

He shown AKh. Although the flop wasn´t bad for me...K-2-T rainbow, but there is nothing happen then lol.

The called was good in that instance and my stack? Or I probably waited for another good spot?

Tnx.

Tourney $10 - 17 places paid - 29 players remaininng - 8th placed

Blinds: 4k/2k ante 500 (blinds increased every 10 min)

Hero (MP+1): 105k
Villian (BB): 158k

I made the raise to 3BB. Just the BB made the called. I had AKo. The flop was 8c Kd 3c. BB checks, I bet 20k. BB raised all in. I quickly call thinking about the flush draw from him (KXc)

He shown K8 and he won. About the instance of the tournament. Maybe could be an easy fold? Then when I think, I always have to put him in Double pairs or maybe a set...but if I were folded I just had 15BB and then avg of chips were 85k.

Post | botuu10 posted in Chatter: Heads up cash game coaching?

Hi guys,

I consider I am a Live cash game player, I usually go to the Casino during the week. I am starting to do my "offcial steps in the online area" in the online cash game Low limits - 6 max, but I would like to take more action in the Heads up cash game.

Anyone knows a coach or articles where I can find more information to improve my game?

thanks!

May 26, 2016 | 2:41 p.m.

I know that i am not going to be a pro, I really love my work, what on the weekends I go to the casino to do almost 600$ a week, as an extra money. But knowing that the poker online don´t required travel expenses and I don´t waste time in travel, It´s possible to compare that winnings on the poker online, it can not to be possible to handle that amount if I play every day, almost 3/4hs?

Post | botuu10 posted in Chatter: Online poker as second job?

Hi guys,

I know that many of us are currently online pro players or regulars. In my case, I would like to get involve in the online poker as I carry on with the live poker which I play more often in the month. I know that the online level bit better than before and we need the poker trackers, to get more information.
I would like to make a big deposit than ever done it (like $1000) because before as many of them I think, I did many deposit like 25, 50, just to try to pinch something. But, nowadays, I think that I can be able to confirm me studies and experiences to try to invest in the poker online. By the moment, I have a full time work and I will be playing at nights.
I would like to focus in cash games, so I have to play many hands to have an EV+ or I should play every day to reach some objective for example, as $200 per night?

I would like to make the online poker as a "second job" just to get an extra money, but I don´t know the point of view as a Pro, how to handle this situation if I have to get focus in cash, Sit & Go, etc.

Thanks,

Post | botuu10 posted in NLHE: Good Shove? live poker 1/3

Hi,

Last friday in a live cash game blinds 1/3. I had this situation: I was with almost 150 BB. I was doing a normal playing in a table which didn´t have some "raisers" the game was more postflop. In this case, I did an open raise in UTG to almost 8BB with AsKs. A tight player just called in MP+2 and in the BB was a regular old woman with 200 BB.
The flop cames Kc 3h 5h: BB checked, I bet almost 20BB (Pot size: 44BB) MP folded and the BB 3 bet to 115 BB, almost my stack. I did some comments as she didn´t have pocket 3 or 5...They didn´t play that kind of hands with a big raise. The other possibility was she was in a flush draw. I did the shove and she finally shown KTh, on the turn came the 7h and my drawing dead.

Could I escape of that situation? Bad luck?

My conclusion: I think that I didn´t have escape, because that was a big spot to make the difference and if i did the correctly read about her flush draw I had almost 65% of adv. but I didn´t count that she could had top pair, too and that reduce my %.

Thanks.

Post | botuu10 posted in NLHE: Good fold? cash game

Hi,

I was playing at the casino a cash game at $1/$3 (6-table). I was a doing an excellent sessions with good decisions and a good game pre flop.
I was in the SB with JJ with a stack of almost $800. The played arrived to me with 3 limps (MP, CO, BU). I was thinking to do the limp or do the bet to take the fold of the gamblers players, but in that table a bet of x3 and x4, was called with nothing, many fish players to see many flops. I decided to make a limp, because I wasn´t convinced to make a good bet to take off many limps players.
Then the actions came to the BB, who was a good player, playing a solid game, with premiums hand in all of them. He raised to $25 with a stack of $450. Then, the CO and the BU made the call. The turn came to me and I made a 3-bet to $65. The BB did a 4-bet (he had never did it in the whole session until that situation) to $200, so he left in his stack $250. CO and BU fold. And I tanked almost 3 minutes and I decided to fold.

My reasons:
He was playing a solid game I put him on AA, KK, QQ and AK.
If I just made the call per $140, If I saw any A, K or Q maybe I was doing a check and he could go All-in. And maybe I had been folded.
If I was confident, he could try a 4-bet bluff I had to put him all in, but when I asked him how many chips left, he wasn´t too afraid about that question haha.

Finally, I shown him my JJ and he shown his AK.

Was a good fold in odds? if we know that is a 6-table.

Thanks,

No, not straddles permitted. I didn't act pref cause as I was in UTG if any raise I can just call If someone 3bet me (on depends of the size bet and the people involved, I could easy fold)

Hi. I think that you have to get in mind the situation of the tournament. It's hyper turbo, so I think that blinds could increase every 10/15 minutes? Depends too, the remaining players, as how the blind level was I think that could be a 3rd level? In that situation I think that about your remaining stack the push could not be too bad. AQ off with your stack if could be a good spot. If you succeed then with more stack you can get more fold equity in advanced levels and in the bubble you can make some pressure.
Otherwise, many players used the firstly levels to increase stacks by many 3 or 4 bets just with positions or defending blinds, depending the opponent.
I think that the call shouldn't be an option. Just push or fold and wait for another good spot.

Rgds!

Post | botuu10 posted in NLHE: Good fold or bad played?

Hi guys, the hand was in the live poker. Blinds $2/$4.
I had a stack of 235bbs (I started eith 100bbs) in UTG I received Ah8h. The villian raised to 4bbs (the usual bet preflop in that table) but that player had just sitted in the table in that hand, so that was the first played by him and the first time which I saw him. He had a similar stack as mine (a bit lower). An old man (bad player, short stack) called, the action came back to me and I called.

Flop
Jh Ts Kh

Hero check
Villian check
Old guy bet $20
Hero call
Villian 3bet to $80
Old guy fold
Hero call

Turn
Js

Hero check
Villian bet $160
Hero fold

Here I decided to fold because I have to admit that I was scared to lose my gain. Why? Because i was for about 10 min more to left the table and the prior day I was 10 hours to recover my inicial stack. So I was more pending about the money that my game I am pretty sure.
Otherwise, I think that my cool move which could be to 4bet in flop, but if he put me all in I was to compromised in the pot. I had a lot of outs, but I don't know if it's really necessary to put a big part of the winnings to fold if I didn't connected nothing.

Sorry if its a but confused, my English is not the best, lol.
Thanks,

Tnx for ur time man. Yeah, I supposed the same too, but I didn't interrupt if the MTT history hands are more of online playing and we know that the live poker its very different.
And I decided to fold preflop (depends the bet and my stack, I think that this time I call because was "cheap") or just fold if I don't get the set in the flop in the next similar situation and not get many compromise in the hand unnecessary

Hi again guys, from Argentina. Today i played a torueny which the buy in was almost $100 freezout. The tourney consist in 5 days, which 4 of them (per 12 blind levels of 20 min each level) are just for qualify to the final day. Today was the Day 1A. 100 players had been registered 15k initial stack (1,5M chips in play for this day) usually qualify almost 25 plys per day.
So, I was in level 10 (just 2 levels left to end the day) with almost 60k chips avg in 40k and 33 plys left.
Blinds 1600/800 the villian is a pro young player, a bit aggressive. He open raise to 2,5 BB in UTG+2 I called in MP2, BU (with 50k chips) called and SB called (a pro player).
I had 55 I just called to get a set, of course.
Flop: 8-3-6 rainbow.
Villian: bet 6400
Hero: raise to 16500
BU and SB fold.
Villain made a bit tank and annuced all in (40800 chips)
I tanked too by 5 mins. I put him in AX(high), and TT but this one not to sure, because how I just mentioned is a younh pro player which tried to bluff a lot in this pots, I had played with a friend of him which played very similar.
I decided to call and he shown JJ.
Turn 7 (maybe and straight runner runner for me lol) River T.
So this one. When I decided to raise him to see in what situations I was. I have to confirm that the 4-bet all in just sorprised me. The pot size before my called was about almost 35k chips.
So in this situation and the spot was an easy fold with 55 and that flop?
Thanks (sorry if my english is a bit bad lol)

Post | botuu10 posted in Other: 1/2 Playing with a loose player

Hi guys, its my first post. Im from Argentina, sorry for my English haha. Well I'm currently playing live poker in 1/2 at the casino, and there is not a lot of players with a loose mode play. In my table arrived a player which was playing in other table 2/2 (in these limits, could find some loose players and regs) as the table was closed, he came to my table. Unfortunately, he sat at my left. The first hand which he played, was a JT vs KQ, the flop was 8 9 K, he made all the calls, when the river came out the 7 and he made a re raise.
Then came a hand with me. I was in UTG with AA, I just limp, then he raise to $25, one in MP calls and I 3-bet $75. Vill just call. The flop was Q 5 8r I bet $150, Vill calls. Turn 3, I bet all in ($120) Vill calls with QTo the river was another 3. He was really disappointed, he did not insult me because he can't.
Now the hand which I have a doubt, after 10 hands the V,made some stupids calls over one tight player. Then I received KK in the button. There was only just one call. So I decided to bet $15, Vill calls in SB and MP calls. The flop was 8 7 2r V checks, MP checks and I bet $25, Vill calls, MP folds. In The turn arrived a J, Vill checks and I bet $45, V re raise to $130 I think a little and I made the call. The river came out 3, Vill instant bet all in $310 I tanked all the time and I fold and show my KK.
Now my question is, was a good fold? ...after that I asked to the player, you was winning, right? And he told me, how can you questioning me that? I paid all your streets to ur AA, per $310 you were knew!
Is the first time, which I played with that kind of player, I was with more than 160% of revenue in the table, I was there for the money (that's my reasons, despite I d like to improve my poker, so for that I'm here too, lol) but this situation drove me really mad.
If there can be other option, for the next time?
Thanks!
