Dang. Was kind of sad to hear the intro. Have been watching the sauce vids since the beginning (like 2010 ish) and have learned SO much over the years. Thanks Ben.

Good stuff good job articulating the kind of frequencies and mixes / strategies pio work you have clearly done. One of the best strat videos I’ve seen in my years being a member here. Kudos

Yeah was hoping for more here out of this series in terms of strategy content.

Nice video Seth. Really like the format where you’ll play talk about the frequencies etc and then break out into the pio work for the trickier spots. Good stuff here

Same though. Watching these vids all the way since toy gaming has turned me into a night and day better poker player, thanks ben

I don’t even think it’s a useful exercise to worry about this. When I ran my sim for a similar spot to identify a reasonable strategy to use I found it interesting that qj j10 region was some of the best bluffs which made sense. I’d assume the bd flush draw makes it a little worse to bluff with since you’ll get xr pretty often here and have to fold when you can pick up a very valuable flush draw ott if you check
Think you can just note this and when u spin the rng when deciding just remember to bet a tiny bit less often.

Just got to this video since I usually only watch the sauce content. But this vid was really really good and made me realize how much I sucked in 4b pots. Really liked making some changes to how I set up my 4b range now compared to when I just bluff every time with a5s this helps a lot where I can be more aggro with my 4bs vs these regs who 3b much and I can get them In some spots I understand better than they do (I hope)

Did runittwice just say that sauce isn’t winning in the 500z pool?

May 16, 2020 | 6:31 p.m.

Hey Ben. Any specific reason you decided to move to the 2x pf raise option here as compared to 2.2 -2.5 I usually see in your play?

May 5, 2020 | 3:18 a.m.

Thanks for the video Ben. My games in the 600/1-k zoom on acr are very much the same. No one bluffs ever. Except for in standard flop and turn spots. When they are all in, they have it...almost always. (In my sample) I think it would be cool to see a video with pio where we do some node locking and check out bluffcatchers where we are removing all or a good amount of pios bluffs at equilibrium, and check out the Ev of some bluffcatchers and how much I’m losing when I bluffcatch vs these tags in my game who always just have it every time. Any one itt can feel free to comment as I played today, and came back to this video with my thoughts. Thanks

What up fam
So my biggest leak by far is brm I love to gamble and play as big as I can. With that being said I ran a small 2k up to 40, work is going good rn so don’t need this $ for life atm, so wanna actually try and not dust it off this time.
This community has lots of guys who have climbed the ranks so was hoping for some guidance here.
Be willing (happily) to shoot someone $50-100 on true poker if they down to take some time to get me organized here. Thanks!!! Feel free to dm

Such good content here Ben. Your live play vids are great but the theory / pio vids absolutely have had the biggest/most positive affect on my game. Thx

Jason the aq limp/4b spot Jeff is referring to is @ 2mins bottom right. I thought this hand was pretty interesting as well.
Haven’t ran the sim for this exact spot but I’d assume flop is a pure bet for 1/4 pot on k88 -and your probably supposed to bet turn like basically always for the small size.
Also would be interested to see if aq just shoves river as it seems aq is one of the worst hands you can have right here.
Thoughts?

Just wanted to come in and say that I thought I was a very well done video. Entertaining and extremely solid content/strat. Also props for coming into the thread with solver work after the fact. Looking forward to part two.

Seems like a pretty easy jam pre over the 3b w this hand. This hand doesn’t rly wanna get peeled pf and you get in some ugly spots post oop v the flatting range

May 23, 2019 | 12:42 a.m.

Looks like straight value he blocks some strong hands and he’s probably got some strong reads that everyone is weak here

March 3, 2019 | 4:32 a.m.

In a simpler way of saying it. Busting before the other short stack is really bad

Coming back to this I think it’s quite a common and good line some of his non nut fhs like this I see it all the time. Hopefully the flush or the straight get there and you can get some action from from some worse hands.
Someone good isn’t going to go calling 3/4 pot with a weaker draw (like the hand he had) when he bets on the paired board anyway so I don’t know how much value is there in betting ott unless it’s a fh that can get called by some worse fhs
I’m still learning the great game tho ;)

Jan. 28, 2019 | 10:08 p.m.

Fold pre not having any suits your hand sucks a lot more than you think. Also the 53o side cards is really bad.
Get the plo matrix to get an idea about pf cuz this is a noob vpip
Anyway I guess call ott and hope for da best. Gl

Can’t he also have some fh that he xb ott? We don’t block any of that stuff either and I think Like or ttxx j7xx j6xx are gonna be in his range plenty and if he’s even betting flushes that’s a lot of value combos we have to fade for this call otr to be winning.

Oddsen!!! Back on rio!!
Your old plo vids go down in my all time top 5
One more for old times sake please?

Jan. 8, 2019 | 9:05 p.m.

Love this vid mark. Would love to see more of this! You could also get into some turn/river play (example in parentheses)
Other spots I’d like to see-
3b pot sb v btn- (we defend and k/a/4 peels or whatever how does the strategy change)
3b pot ep v lp

Makes it nice bc for a recreational with a 9-5 and other stuff In my life I don’t have tons of hours to grind pio. I can appreciate how much time and effort went into making a vid like this! Especially for those of us with the cheaper version of pio. (Me)

+1 for triple threat thinking

Jan. 4, 2019 | 3:27 a.m.

Wanted to chime in here to this discussion. Imo we’re pretty lucky that a dude like sauce is even putting out content like he has been for the last few years here on rio. It’s been a minute since his last nlhe vid and I (prob like a lot of folks) check in frequently hoping for a new vid from Ben.
That being said it is the holidays and it’s tottaly understandable that he’s not pumping out vids this time of year. For 100$ a month it’s insane value to be able to listen and learn from one of the goats.
I for one am thankful and am an infinitely better player thanks to his vids and the other pros on this site.

Awesome stuff here really learned a lot especially that first hand wasn’t a spot I had looked at much. Also learned a lot watching you navigate pio. Would love to see more vids like this of other mtt spots. Great work!

Awesome video! Would love to see more of this stuff where you pick out some other preflop spots and look at diff boards like this.

Nov. 17, 2018 | 8:11 p.m.

How come everyone is folding pre this seems like a pretty simple call.
